I have a lot of different knives but when you have been bit by the knife bug you just can't stop. I have been thinking about another Benchmade because I really like my Mini Griptillian. Another kind I have been thinking about is Columbia River, SOG, and lastly the Buck Strider knives.

If you could tell your favorites why you like them and maybe a picture that would be great.

Here are some guidelines for it.

1. What will it be used for? General use cutting things open/self defense
2. Fixed or folder? (If folder, what type of lock?) Folder or fixed doesn't really matter
3. Blade length wanted? between 3-4 inches
4. Plain or serrated edge? either plain or half serrated
5. Minimum and maximum price? Maximum price $80.00
6. Handle material? Some kind of polymer, maybe some kind of alloy
7. Blade material? something that retains sharpness but relatively easy to resharpen
8. Production or custom? production

Case Russlock . . . . .

Yeah, I know they're weird looking but so were Volkswagen beetles. You'll probably be the only person you know who owns one too so you can amaze and impress your friends with retro coolness and maybe even perform at church socials and other public gatherings.

I just bought a Benchmade Auto Mini-Rukus. This thing is built like a tank and pretty big. I had originally ordered the Full Size Rukus but the guy at the blade shop.com Convinced me to go with the Mini. I'm glad I did!!! because the Mini barely fits comfortably in my pants.

First, consider a Spyderco C41PBK Native - $39.48 at Wally-World. Made in USA - modern steel (S30V). Super buy. FRN handle is comfortable - fits 'naturally' in your hand. Removeable clip.

Second, consider the venerable Buck 110 - from the everyday variant for ~$30 at Wally-World to the beautiful 'Alaskan Guide' version, with black Al-Ti-N coated S30V steel, from Cabela's - $64.99 - to the other different hi-tech bladed one as a special from 'Bass Pro' shops - at the same price. If you like knifes - you have to have a Buck 110.

Hmmm, you could get both - the Spydie 'Native' and the standard 110 - in one trip to Wally-World with that $80 - and have enough moola left for a McGreaseball sandwich on the way out!

I like the SOG Twitch II. Probably my favorite box cutter and carry knife. Looking to carry something a bit larger, check out the SOG Twitch XL I also like the Spyderco Moran fixed blace. If you don't have a Spyderco Native, that is the place to start.

in folders i have 2 benchmade large doug ritter grippers 1 bm 710 and a large skirmish. i have 3 leatherman tools 1 supertool and a ti and a charge. in fixed knives i have 1 bark river bravo 1 . three cold steel knives the pendelton, the master hunter, and the srk. a becker companion , a kbar and a rtak. and 3 moras, i have never had to use any as a weapon i use the grippers the most, and the moras. the cole steel pendelton and master hunter are for hunting so if i loose them i wont cry. and when i go hiking i carrie my bark river and my leatherman and the gripper. the ritter gripper is made for doug ritter a survival guy he had it made from benchmade it has a s30v drop point blade and the axis lock its a knife i would get if i were looking for 1 i hope this helps you

I carry a SOG Twitch II as well. I am really pleased with all aspects of the knife. Nice price too. You might look at the SOG Flash II instead of the Twitch XL unless you like the blade design on the XL, it's different than the II.
