Can someone please give an opinion on which of these is a better, safer round in a Condominium setting? Or do you know of something better?

357 SIG Winchester Ranger 100gr. Frangible Ammo
Glaser Safety Slug
Thanks!

There's an article on the web somewhere, I think m4carbine.net that lists the massive disadvantages of frangible bullets for SD purposes.

I have no expierence with those or the glassers though. I think you will find most people will recommend more traditional SD rounds, primarily hollow points.

Either way, you picked the wrong round if you are that worried about penetration issues.

357 SIG Winchester Ranger 100gr. Frangible is training ammo for indoor ranges.
Never intended for SD use.

I'd go with the fastest 125 grain JHP you can find and call it good.
Just don't shoot the walls full of holes by missing a lot.

Of the choices listed, Glaser Silvers for sure, but don't count on them being stopped by drywall.

Bottom line, a .357 is about the worst choice if you are worried about overpenitration

WHY does this keep coming up?
This subject needs to go in a FAQ sticky!

Bold links are ACTUAL TESTING
Frangible ammo DOES penetrate walls, and DOES NOT cause wounds that will force a stop any more effectively than a JHP would.
Some lack the power to cycle the action of guns reliably.
Almost all are too expensive for real testing in your gun.

Anecdotal stories about stops are voluntary stops, a frangible will not incapacitate unless you put it into the perfect spot, generally they will not penetrate to vital organs, generally they fail the FBI test (if you think 12" is more than enough, take a moment to think about shooting through an arm, heavy coat, or light barrier)
