Hi!

I have shortend the barrel to 19'. I will also drill a hole in the back of the action and put a screw there so I then have one screw in front and one in the back of the action. I will bed the action so it is tight and fit in the stock. I wonder if I have to bed a few inches in the barrel channel to support becouse it seems like the barrel is not screwed in the action, its riveted. The action is steel but its still small, wonder if it can hold the heavy barrel itself.

My suggestion would be to drill the hole, free float the barrel and then see how it shoots. If you don't get the kind of accuracy you're looking for, you can always go back and bed it later. Good luck!

Good suggestion! Lets start from there and if its needed bed to support barrel. On the other hand its easy to sand down the bedding to make it freefloated

As far as. Know that rifle likes to be free floated. After you are done bedding it you might want to try a temporary pad but I would avoid permanent. A guy I know uses bike tubes for support or aluminum tape.

Ok when you say bike tube as pad do you mean that i should use it in the barrel channel as a support? If i bed it and freefloat it and try that first i can try the tube later if accuracy isnt satisfied.

I wouldn't hurt to bed an inch or so of the barrel, especially on a gun where the barrel to receiver fit isn't absolutely rock solid.

I would avoid any sort of bedding that is compressible. It may provide good groups at first, but eventually it will take on a set, which may cause POI to change. I'd rather have a slightly bigger group that's always centered around the same spot than a smaller group that moves around.

Its finished

Just want to share a pic. Its shoots great with cci standard and winchester laser high velocity.
