I have an old model 60 that I acquired sometime in the 1970's from a neighbor. It has a wooden stock with a squirrel on it. The barrel says Glenfield Model 60, made by Marlin firearms. The serial number is 723205XX.

The gun isn't in bad shape. The blueing on the barrel is fine but the pot metal or whatever is on the front of the barrel and holds the magazine tube is losing what ever it had on it, just looks like grey metal.

According to everything I read this gun was manufactured in 1928! This must be a prototype of the gun they started producing in 1960.

Is there somewhere I can find the real year made?
