Have been hanging out for a while now and love this forum keep up the good work.Looking to swap my slightly used 2nd gen model 17 to a friend for a 26. My 17 has probably 200 rounds thru it with reg sites and 3 Hicaps. The 26 in question is new or like new. It is not his gun, but he is trying to broker a deal so that he ends up with it for this trade. My question is this: What would be a fair deal? The 26 and cash? The 2 guns even and the deal on the mags? Don't know what to do. Ideally I would like to end up with the gun, some cash and 1 mag. Anyone give me some help

Thanks for posting - always nice to have new members asking questions.

Let's look at the approximate values here (others will probably correct me on these numbers, just taking a guess)

Used Glock 17 = $400
3 REGULAR-Caps (cough) = $175
TOTAL = $575

Newish Glock 26 = $450

I'd definitely want some cash, or hold on one or more of those mags. Hopefully, they won't be 'collectors items' in the future.

I'd keep the 3 hi caps for use in the 26. Maybe pick up 1 or 2 10 rounders to include w/ the gun ;)
I don't normally like trading fullsize guns for sub compacts. Really would depend on ho well you shoot the 26 & what your intended plans for it will be.
Personally, if I wasn't happy w/ the 17 & really wanted he 26, I'd go straight up trade but keep the hi caps. I believe the mags go for $50- $75 so if you want $$ go from there.

Keep your Glock 17 and look for a used Glock 26. You can find deals if you look. :)
