I was looking on eBay for a couple of Glock 17 magazines. I'm not sure about the Gen of my G17, I know it's not a Gen 4. The seller states the following in his listing;
"Glock 17,34 9mm 10 round OEM Factory magazine.
Gen 4 magazine, will fix and work in all Generations, Black follower". I'm not sure what he means by "will fix and work in all Gen's". The term "fix", meaning it will lock into place correctly? Will this magazine work in all pre-Gen 4 G17's?

Probably a typo. Will fit. They will work fine. Gen 4 and up are made for a reversible magazine release but will work fine in the older generations.

Not to go off on a big long hijacking tangent but I stopped buy most anything important from FleaBay. Probarrry not a typo. Might mean the add was written buy a person speaking a communist language. Counterfeit crap is everywhere. I only buy magazines from reputable places like MidwayUSA.

I didn't pay much attention to where the op was looking. Just that the mags will work.

I didn't think Ebay even carried mags. But I haven't been on Ebay in 15 years.

They sell 10 round and less capacity. There are a few good sellers on eBay but sometimes it's hard to filter them out from all the crap.

I do buy from Midway USA from time to time. But I generally shop around for the best prices before I make a purchase. More often than not Midway USA has higher prices.

I do that for products like Tide, or Clorox, or Charmin, or even brand name gun lubes, but for something like gun magazines, especially something that can be faked (I'm a 1911 guy and there are few gun items faked more than 1911 mags), I'm always going to buy from a known, trusted supplier, and if I have to pay more, I'm fine with that knowing I have the real product.

I hate paying shipping costs, one question, are used Glock mags off Ebay a deal when you can buy Magpul PMAG 17 GL9 mags for $13?

I still wouldn't buy magazines off Fleabay
Depends on what youre buying.

Ive made out great with most that Ive bought there.

And Ive been burned, once.

Just this past year, I got three SIG P220 Compact factory mags that were still in the original packages, for $40. They normally go for around $45 each.

I also got a couple of used S&W 645 mags there for a good price.

About 20 years ago, I bought a bunch of Colt marked, 1911 mags, that were counterfeits. Looked good in the pics, but it was obvious on closer inspection, and the way they worked (they didnt), they were not factory Colt mags. Thats the only problem Ive had though.

For the Glocks, Ive been buying the Korean (KCI and KAHN) mags for both 17's and 19's. Ive been shooting them weekly for over a decade now, and they work just as well as the factory Glock mags, and at less than half the price. Id trust them to carry them. They go for around $5/ea., but these days, they are up to around $9/ea. Still a deal though.

I did just get a bunch of 19 Korean mags from Classic Firearms, and they are not the same. I made the assumption when they said "Korean" they meant KCI, so much for the assumption. o_O

They work fine shooting wise, no problem there, but they dont drop free when empty. They were cheap, $5/ea, but I wont use them for anything but practice. I dont plan on buying any more of them either.

AK, Have you tried the KCI 33 round mags? always wondered about them. and the 17 round mags for range work. I have never seen reviews on them. This is good to know.

I have a couple of them and unlike the 17 and 15 round mags, I did have problems with them, and wouldnt recommend them.

Just an FYI here too, Ive not had good luck with the factory Glock 33 rounders either, and they only worked slightly better than the Korean 33 rounders I have.

I did pick up a couple of the MagPul 27 rounders, and so far, they have worked flawlessly. I would recommend those over the other two. If you can find any.

Oh, thats too bad. I have 5 of the factory 33 rounders and they worked flawless in the G22 with 9mm barrel, the G17 gen 4 and the G19 gen4. Had trouble with the G26 tho. Maybe when i order tje standard mags. I will throw one in the cart to test. And that does not surprise me. The magpuls have been great so far.

Are you in a Free State? Are you just looking for 10-Round because that's all that's on Ebay or is it a legal requirement for you?

I just received a set of brand new RCBS dies for .257 Roberts that I ordered off of E-bay for $15. As described and perfect. Been lurking there lately looking for .30-06 Ackley Improved dies but came across the .257 Roberts dies and couldn't pass them up.

eBay is great if you can find the honest guy (like most THR members) who is selling his seldom used equipment. It seems to be harder to find the good sellers anymore. They have been flooded with “US seller” listings that actually come from overseas. You’ll know when you get one of those because they slow walk shipping and it ends up taking 2 weeks to get your item.
