I have a Glock 19 and love it for what it is, and it's a keeper, very reliable, a pistol I can count on.

On a whim, I purchased a G17L 6" and had trouble with failure to feed and cycle properly. My range officer told me I was 'limp-wristing' it and he was right, I'd silidify my hold and it would cycle. Every time I relaxed and shot the way I normally do, it would not feed.

We both concluded it is the extra slide weight and/or geometry making this happen. I sold it. Couldn't stand having a piece that needs special shooting technique to be relied on to work. Now I'm wondering if I should have had the slide lightened.

Question is this, do G34's have any issue with this at all? I'm now interested in getting a G34.

Add in the reduced barrel length and I think that will reduce the chance of it.

I knew a new shooter who went out and got the G35, he did not have a very strong grip, was his first pistol, and he had no issues with it limp wristing.

Any Glock can be limp wristed.. problem of the design.

I have a 34 & 35 (gen 4's), neither are malfunction free.. The 34 is better than the 35, once I ditched the RSA and went with a Gen3 conversion Rod and tuned my Recoil spring.

I've never had a single problem with my 17L.

You could have gotten a lighter spring for shooting 115gr ammo, or just shot heavier ammo in it and it would have been fine.

In lots of looking online between deciding on a G34 or 17L (still undecided) I have read several people posting that the 17L likes hotter ammo.

OP, I'm not buying another "G" if it's not a Gen4. I have a Gen3 17 that I have to grip high on to get it on target, the Grip Force Adapter doesn't work for me on that gun, and I have to tape up the back of my shooting hand to avoid getting Glock bite from a high hold. I have the large beavertail backstrap on my Gen4 21 and I can shoot that dead nuts on a target.

You can't have Gen4 Glocks in the People's Republic of Cali. But a Grip Force Adapter on a Gen3 34 might work for you, to get your strong hand up higher on grip of the gun, this can cure a limp wrist, so it might be worth a try.

BeachBum - If you have the same problem when you get your G34. You might try locking the slide back when you are not using for a while.
I had some feeding issues with my last two Glocks when they were new and stiff. I guess I have a week grip, I don't know. A friend suggested
I try putting them in the safe locked back. After a few weeks they loosened up a bit and started running fine.
Hotter ammo is always a good idea at first as well.
