i was bored and was looking at gunbrokers website.. i searched for glocks and ran into a glock 18 automatic handgun (drool) (drool) for 2000. i live in tucson,az and there are no class 3 dealers..say i travel to phoenix... and tell them i want it...what should i expect? can i go in there fill out paperwork pay the permit and then order it? or is it alot harder than that? is the permit a one time thing? that would be completely extraordinary to add to my collection!

For local Class III dealers who can do a transfer, check with C&T Enterprises, Piece of History Firearms(www.pieceofhistoryfirearms.com) and GG&G(www.gggaz.com). They can explain the whole process, as long as you're reasonably serious about things and aren't going to waste their time with just a casual inquiry; it's a pretty drawn-out process, involving 7 sets of fingerprints, a letter from Pima County Sheriff Dupnik, a $200 tax stamp over and above the cost of the gun, and waiting anywhere from 2 months to 2 years for BATFE to process your paperwork.

You need to familiarize yourself with weapons classed under NFA.

Note:
Unfortunately it is a post 1986 weapon that can only be purchased by L.E. agencies or by a FFL/SOT holder under certain conditions.

I don't see how this could be any clearer.

BTW - It is impossible for a civilian (non dealer) to obtain a Glock 18 machine pistol legally.

AFAIK a true Glock 18 is next to impossible to legally buy as a normal civillian. I believe there are only a handful, read that as 1-5 of them, that are legally transferable and if they do pop up for sale you can pretty much be sure of uber high selling prices, much higher then 2K.

You may be right but I could swear there are a couple out there floating around as transferables. At any rate they either don't exist in this regard or are so rare to make them practically non-existent.

IIRC there ARE a couple transferables, and most of them are in the vault of a PD in the north west... and they ain't giving them up.

Yeah, you won't be able to own one; sorry mate.

But, they are really fun to shoot! I had the opportunity a while back at a MG shoot...

LOL

Any Glock 18 registered before 1986 would still be unavailable to the general public as they'd be pre-samples because they weren't manufactured in the US. Glock didn't start manufacturing guns in the US until the last year or two.

Apparently there are a few transferrable Glock 17 slideplate conversions though.
