Glock 19 Barrel Extension

Ive seen longer barrels and threaded barrels. What Im asking is if there is a barrel for a 9mm that is made to extend about 5 inches on top of the threaded one. Like a silencer but only a tube, for accuracy. AND is it small enough to not cover the sights. Because that would defeat the purpose.
I suppose it could be any brand as long as it fits the barrel's threads. Anyone seen something of the sort? I know i could get an extended barrel but i like the idea of just screwing it on.

I just saw a mac 10 barrel extension online. If it fits the threads will this work on a glock? Meaning, since the glock has a moving barrel, will this weight affect the operation?

Let me make sure I understand what you're asking here.

Are you looking for a barrel that's about 9"-10" long that can be used to replace the factory barrel? If so, I don't know of one but for enough money you could probably get someone to make one.

Are you looking for a RIFLED barrel extension that would screw onto a threaded Glock barrel? If so, I suspect there would be problems with this but I don't know enough engineering to tell you exactly what. I also don't know think anyone currently makes one.

As far as just a dummy barrel extension, there's at least one manufacturer (Lone Wolf Distributors) that sells fake suppressors that would accomplish what you're asking. However, this would do nothing for accuracy since you're not also extending the sight radius. Since the fake suppressor is probably going to be larger bore than the rest of the barrel, gases would be able to escape and thus probably wouldn't lead to a velocity increase, either.

The fake silencer or any other thing you attach to the barrel will add weight and can make the pistol fail to function as the barrel has to tilt to unlock from the slide. Silencers get around the weight problem by using a linear decoupler (recoil booster) which is a spring loaded device that breifly disconnects the weight of the silencer from the barrel and allows it to tilt and unlock from the slide.

I once was sent a seven inch barrel by mistake from Tom Forest in CA. I heard he charged restocking fees even for his mistakes, so I used the barrel anyway. I had to use an 8 pound spring to get it to cycle properly. I eventually cut the barrel down to 5.5 inches and used the normal 16 pound spring.

No, I don't think so. The G19 barrel will fit the G26, but the G17/17L will NOT fit the G19.

^^ Why not? I'm curious. Is the OD of the G17 barrel larger than that of the G19? Or is the locking block different?

I'm asking, because I'm looking to buy a G27, and am curious how best to convert it to 9mm. I tried putting a G19 barrel in one, and it was very loose! If a G17 barrel was a tighter fit, I wouldn't mind cutting one down. If the OD was TOO big, that might be ok, too. I suppose it could be sanded down in a lathe?

The barrel lugs are different. Don't try it, it will lock up your gun and it is an epic bitch to fix. A 23 barrel will fit in your 27, but you will need a .40-9 conversion barrel to go 9mm as the 9mm barrels are smaller in all dimensions.

You can get them from most makers. LWD seems to be the most popular.

Since you're using the same slide, the sight radius is the same, therefore there would be no improvement in accuracy.

As far as a screwon extension, goodluck. However, there are many companies that make ported and extended barrels for glocks (storm lake, lone wolf) I personally have one for my g22, it sticks out about 2/3 inch past my slide, and is ported. This cuts down on recoil and has tightened my groups considerably. It also looks extremely cool
