I agree to check the grip you are using. Also remove the slide and push slightly up on the slide stop lever- it should have some spring tension pushing it back down. I have seen some not get the slide stop lever back in properly after disassembly. The locking block pin (upper) needs to go in first then the slide stop lever and trigger pin next. This will let the pigtail of the spring be in the proper place.

Either part of your hand is rubbing against the slide stop(slide release) while you're shooting, causing it to move upward and lock into the slide, or the slide stop(slide release) is installed incorrectly.

If you bought the gun used or anyone has ever taken the frame apart:

Slide Stop change/install: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQbYqWBLa9w
(^^^DO NOT use a mallet to force the pins, move the slide stop forward and backward, up and down, until the trigger pin slides relatively freely through)

Correct slide stop spring position: http://glocktalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=15738529&postcount=3

It could even be that the incorrect slide stop is in the gun, or that the slide stop spring is broken or weak. But the first things I'd suspect are that you're hitting it with your hand while shooting or it's installed incorrectly, in that order.

I did the same thing with my XD, it was my thumb striking the slide stop on recoil. I'm an old bullseye shooter, who shoots with my thumb sticking out and upward, not good for this style of gun. As soon as I tucked my thumb in, the problem went away.

If you shoot two handed, wrap your left thumb around your right, that'll keep it from inadvertly contacting the slide stop.
