Thinking about picking one up today.

3rd Gen w/ fixed sites, looks like it has never been fired, but he has to sell it as used.

$495.

I have bought many pistols before, but since the "gun rush", my idea of a good price may be off.

What say you?

For me it would depend on what was included in the sale; additional magazines? Box, tools, etc?

I don't see all that many model 20's for sale, and when they do show up, it seems they sell fairly quickly.

I paid $520 for a new G20SF, so that price is pretty good. Is it a private seller (no sales tax)? That would save you a few bucks as well.

Before you buy I would suggest you hold the G20 and the G20SF and see which you like better. I hated the feel of the regular G20 but the short frame feels great in my hand.

Not a bad price for a "used" gun, but not a steal either. I paid $509 + tax for a new one, then another $80 for night sights. If you have to pay sales tax, try and get him to go $475 if you can. If not, try hitting some classified ad's. I saw a G20 with 3 mags and night sights from a private seller for $525/OBO OTD recently.

I think the SF stands for slim frame. The grip is just slimmer correct? Is the length of the grip shorter as well?

SF stands for "Short Frame" and refers to the distance from the deepest part of the back strap to the trigger. This measurement has been shortened, hence the name.

As to the OP, sounds like a reasonable price for a like new 3rd Gen.
