I picked up a NIB G20 last week from Bernies in a trade. First thing I did after returning home was install a 3.5 connector and polish the feedramp. These will be the only mods to this Glock. I noticed later that this is a E serial Glock and is on the framerail recall list but I don't intend to send it to Glock unless something breaks. I do carefully inspect the rails each time I clean it however. Two range visits and about 250rds thru it now. Ammo used was GA Arms 180gr FMJ and Blazer 200gr FMJ. Also a few Winchester 175gr Silvertips thru it as this will be my carry load. Accuracy is good but targets are hard to come by. Two 10mm rounds usually totally disintegrates the can into a hundred pieces! Factory sights are well regulated for this ammo. The 10rd factory mags are easy to fill to capacity unlike the G21 mags. I had one round that failed to chamber but the previous round sounded a little squibby so I write it off as ammo related. Other than that reliability has been 100%. Recoil is very tame but this is a LARGE pistol. People with smaller hands are going to have problems with it. This is my second G20 over the years and I do like the 10mm load. I much prefer it over the G21. Reasons being softer recoil, ease of mag loading, accuracy, knockdown power and bullet speed. At least in my perception. I already see evidence of slide peening starting on this G20 but it is really not unusual and nothing to be concerned about. When I do carry the G20 its in a Fobus paddle holster.

Congrats on your purchase. I haven't had my G20 very long. I've put a couple of boxes of 175 gr Silvertips through it without a problem. I've also shot 135 gr and 165 gr Corbons (as well as some Federal Hydrashoks) through it without a hiccup. I'm glad to see another Glock 20 owner. This is my first experience with the 10 mm; I'm extremely pleased with the caliber and pistol.
CZF, you don't know how close I came to buying a 10mm Witness a couple of weekends ago. I didn't have time to get any feedback from Witness owners, so I passed on the gun. How do you like your Witness?

Congrats on your new purchase. I like the 10mm myself. BIG downside for me was finding ammo. Now that I've discovered the world of reloading, I have started contemplating getting another 10mm.

You must have BIG hands!! Both the 20 and the 21 are to big for me, even with the finger grooves!!! That's why I have the smaller G29/G30 combination!!

Real nice firearm you got there!I don't have a 10mm Witness but I can compare the G20 to a 40cal all steel CZ75B. Shooting the mild loads that I was shooting the G20 has less percieved recoil to me than the CZ. Also less than my G23. Yes I have very long fingers so the large frame is no problem for me.

If he was using new Winchester Silvertips, he wasn't using scaled back ammo. I would like to shoot a Glock 21 next to a Glock 20 to get a good, felt recoil comparison. I can tell you that the Glock 20 with Silvertips does have less recoil than a Colt Officer's Model w/ Corbon's 185 gr + p! I think my 454 has less recoil than that little monster.

As for 10mm ammo selection, I think you covered it regarding "plinking & practice" ammo, GA's 180gn FMJ load and the 200gn Blazers.
As an alternative to the Win STHPs, you might also want to try GA's 155gn or 180gn Gold Dot HP loads. The 155gn is doing 1375fps, while the 180gn load is doing 1150fps. I think they have good prices for this type of "premium" carry/duty ammo.
Proload sells a 180gn GDHP load that does 1200fps.
As you get into the hotter loads, you'll quickly see just how large the 10mm's power range really is. Of course, if you reload, you can safely go beyond mere "factory" loads using a huge variety of 10mm/.40cal bullet-weights.
If you don't reload, you might want to check out the hot 10mm loads sold by Texas Ammo using 135gn, 165gn and 200gn bullets, launched at velocities of, respectively, 1450fps, 1350fps and 1250fps.
