Did a quick search and didn't find this had been posted (but knowing my luck it has).

At any rate, this guy really tortured his G21 ... and while I'm not a Glock fan, I certainly can't call them junk :p

G21 Torture (photos not for the faint of heart, and you HK USP fans might just want to avoid going there).

im sorry but i couldnt even do that to a glock... glocks are tanks the only usual problems are ammo, mags, guide rods breaking (factory),and i think the stock sights suck imo

Please do an XD test

WOW you have really shaken the gun world up, at least in my neck of the woods!!!!!! This has been the main focal point all morning. We are wondering if you were up to the challenge of doing one of your test on an XD model pistol though because S.A. states that they have placed the XD pistols through the same type of test the glocks go through and MORE!!!!!!

So what do you think???? Are you up to the challenge of a head to head match, please let us know.

I'll still throw my lot in with larry vickers. No doubt glocks are reliable, but USP's are equally so

That is a great idea; a LOT of us would like to know which gun would choke first!

A while back I saw where a gunsmith had tested the reliability of a Glock, a 1911, a Beretta, and an HK USP when exposed to sand. He put the guns with a loaded magazine in each, in a plastic bag that he filled with play sand ahd then he shook them up. He took them out, and fired them. The 1911 worked fine, the Glock worked fine, the Beretta worked fine, the HK fired twice and Jammed solid.

Then he repeated the test with no magazine, this time the beretta and the HK failed, the 1911, and Glock both worked fine.

No, no, no you have it all wrong. The 1911 was the control sample, it did not go in the sand!

The 1911 jammed, the Glock worked fine, the Beretta worked fine, the HK fired twice and Jammed solid.

Then he repeated the test with no magazine, this time the beretta and the HK failed, the 1911 malfunctioned again, and the Glock worked fine.

Already Sold on Glock 21, but Wow

Hi guys,

I'm already a Glock 21 fan, but wow. That test is worse than the one in the Ptoom book.

So tell me why this gun isn't going to war with us?

John

I remember following the thread on ARF.com of this torture test by Big Bore.

His videos were entertaining to watch also. I remember he was scared that he'd shoot his frame with the .22 eventaully so he stopped, still got more cajones than me!

Definitely one of the best torture tests...

In a locked thread, ny32182 basically calls BigBore (Steve of Adco Firearms) a liar. If you're going to lie, I think there are better ways to do it than to provide all sorts of ways for people to keep you accountable for your claims.

ny32182 argues the test is unscientific, which is irrelevant. Science means repeatability and prediction. This test makes no such claims... it simply documents what his G21 went through while remaining functioning in most cases. Tests, by their nature, demonstrate the performance of a single subject any incorrect inferences drawn from that are the fault of the reader alone. To that end, this test does show the potential of the G21.

If a man runs the 100 meter dash in 9 seconds... that means a man can do it, not that every man or even many men can... but a man can. It would be patently ridiculous to criticize the athlete's world record breaking run as "unscientific". Anyone with common sense realizes that's hardly the point!

Steve makes no claims that your Glock will perform like his- better or worse- but we know a G21 can... which is more than we can say about a lot of other firearms and that's the relevance of this test.

It'd be nice if there were a "scientific" torture test... the closest thing to that is the criteria the CZ75 went through... which provides for prediction, but there are tests meant to accurately predict (which require repetition) and tests meant to demonstrate limits (which require documentation).
