I have an opportunity to purchase a lightly used glock 23 for $405 out the door. The pistol is $365 plus shipping and transfer. Would this be a good price?

Your input is appreciated. I am not very familiar with Glocks Thanks!

For slightly over $400, yea I'd do it. I bought a new G23 from Academy for $538 with tax. This was my first handgun (and is my carry piece), If I did it over again I would buy used. At the gunshow here in Austin sometimes a vendor will sell them for under $450 new. Look it over if it looks OK, good barrel, lockup, etc, then buy it. Hell, it's a Glock a person has to TRY to tear one up. Might replace the recoil spring when you get it, their usually cheap insurance. :)

I bought my G23 in the early 90s and have never regretted it. Over 16,000 rounds without one malfunction. The price sounds more than reasonable.

3rd Generation? Yeah, I think that would be pretty good assuming pristine condition. Refurbs (when they surface run around $400 - at least around here). New in my area is $490 - put it roughly $515 out the door with taxes and so forth. Nothing wrong with used Glocks. Have a G19 I bought used and has never given me grief. Two other Glocks that I have (17 & 22) are factory refurbs, also excellent.

Like longhorngunman my first handgun and current carry gun is a Glock 23. I bought it new for about $500 (this was three year ago) and have been nothing but pleased since. In my opinion it's a great combination of size and power. For $400, I'd jump on it.

Buy it before someone else does! Used Glocks in my area will go for $450 and they don't last long at that price. Plus, you are getting one of the most in-demand Glocks out there.

The Glock is a 2nd Generation. No finger grooves (don't care for them) and no light rail (don't use a light). It would be used primarily for concealed carry.

Buy the dang thing already! It's a Glock, if you generally like the function of a Glock, safety(or lack of, depending on who you ask), looks(again, or lack thereof) :) , and like the.40 cartridge then you have found a good deal. Gotta practice with it though, the .40 in the compact frame sure likes to jump on me during rapid fire. My fullsize G21 though is like, well, buuutttta. :) Just remember when you get this close and then back out it will nag you for weeks. I turned down a mint S&W 29 .44mag for $300 a month ago. Now I just tell myself damn, shoulda, woulda, coulda.

I did purchase the pistol. It has just arrived. The pictures didn't do it justice. The pistol has no scratches. It looks as if it had fired maybe a box or two of ammo. It is in excellent condition. The dealer kept asking me, "and you paid what for it?" No regrets! Next post will be a range report.
