Glock 23

I've been thinking about getting a friend a Glock 23 for his birthday. This brings to mind two questions.

1. How is the M23 quality wise.

2. He's 18, and I don't remember if it would be legal for me to do this.

I won’t pretend to know the legalities of your state, but it may be legal to own but not purchase a handgun at 18, though I am far from certain and you’ll definitely want to study up on any local or state laws pertaining to this.
I understand contributing to the delinquency of a "minor" isn’t exactly something you would want on your record.

However, I can tell you that the G23 is a fine handgun in terms of quality. And though quality is subjective, I doubt there are many out there that consider Glocks to be garbage.
There are plenty of folks who make references to Tupperware when describing Glocks, but heck; Tupperware is good quality (it’s not as if they’re making references to Glad-Lock containers).

1. How is the M23 quality wise.

When comparing quality to cost, Glock's are hard to beat. You get a reliable and dependable firearm at a relatively inexpensive price. You could spend more and get a less reliable handgun. The other gunmaker that shares this space with Glock would be CZ.

Great guns, but Glocks are a love it or hate it type of deal.

But overall package wise, the compact Glocks are quite difficult to beat. I even feel the G23 is the best Glock out of the whole line when considering a range gun, CCW gun, caliber etc...

But, for me, I dont shoot them well. But if they did fit me, I'd own a whole bunch. I know that for sure.

Now sure of the legality question though, so I'll let someone else handle that question.

I love my Glock 23. It's easy to shoot, easy to maintain, accurate, and reliable. It's snappier than a full metal pistol of course, but it's manageable.

Great gun!

I love my GLOCK 23. Never had any problems with it of any kind, shoots well, feels really good in my hand.
