I hear some of the other glocks can be converted to a different cal with barrel and mag swap.. what can I swap with my Glock 26? Will a 40 SW barrel and mags work? 357sig?

no, unless you change the complete slide and ejector.

if you had a glock27/33 then it's possible to get a 9mm conversion barrel and 9mm magazines.

You shouldn't swap to any caliber besides the original 9x19 with a G26. G27s and G33s have an extra pin to reinforce the frame.

so really my only option would be to buy another or trade it in for the one I want.

I do not mean this as a flame or smart arse remark in any way so please do not take it as such. That being said, why didn't you just buy a Glock 27 in the first place?

The 26 is a GREAT gun in of itself. Hell I don't even really like Glocks and I think the 26 is just about perfect.

slide on the 27/33 is different, that is why the conversion barrels to 9mm don't just use a stock 9x19 barrel, it would be too loose in the sldie I think.

This is why I never considered the G26. With my G33 I can shoot .357 Sig, .40 S&W with a factory barrel, and 9mm with my LWD conversion barrel. I could do the same with a G27.

I'd really like to go with .45 auto or 10mm.. so I'd just have to replace the slide/barrel and mags?

If you have a .45 Auto Glock you can get 10mm conversion barrels, if you have a 10mm Glock you can get .40, .357, 9x25 Dillon, and I think 9x19mm conversions.

The .40 and .357 Glocks interchange with either a factory or aftermarket barrel, not conversions. And they can also be converted to 9x19mm with a barrel and magazine.

I know you cannot import one, but what are the legalities of converting one to .380?

I dont think I would downgrade to a .380, for carry, but how many people do you know with a .380 Glock?
