I have the 26, but it is just too heavy to carry in my front left pocket. The PM9 looks nice (and lighter).

Thinking about trading-in the 26 and getting the Kahr (will have to throw in some cash).

BTW... price check on PM9's (all black) in your area.

I effectively traded my G-26 for a PM-9. The PM-9 conceals in a lot of clothing that the G-26 couldn't pull off. Odd thing is, I usually carry my duty weapon, a G-19 whether on or off duty.

When I carry the PM-9, it is like the old joke about a Seecamp (or NAA Guardian) being "what I carry when I am not carrying a gun". I feel kind of undergunned. Yes, it is all in my head especially since the PM-9 plus a 7 rd magazine is close to my loadout (off duty) with a G-19 and no spare mag.

The PM-9 is a niche gun for me. I am debating trading it towards a Springfield XD sub-compact in .40 S&W or buying one outright. Handled one today. One word- SWEET!
:D

PM9 good, but not as reliable as G26

I own both a PM9 and a G27 (same as G26 but in .40).

They are both good guns. As you and others have pointed out only the PM9 is capable of front pocket carry, unless you wear really big pockets.

The one thing I would point out to you is that many people (myself included) have had mixed experiences with the reliability of the PM9, especially failures to feed and recently a kaboom. Some are quite picky with respect to ammo choices. Suggest you look at the Kahr Club on Glocktalk for more details.

Bear in mind that the Glock is much more established in LEO use, hence they've had longer to get it right. Kahr is something of an upstart in the gun world. They make a good product, but for how much it costs the reliability concern is worrisome.

The PM9 is definitely more pocketable than the G26.

I have had great performance from both Kahrs I've owned (PM9 and MK40). My Kahrs have actually performed better than the Glocks I've owned (G26 and G36). I front pocket carried a PM9 in my shorts pocket almost every day this past summer with no problem.

PM9s in my area are around $550 new.

I really enjoy my PM-9. It is small enough to pocket carry but still packs a punch. It's the one I carry when it is difficult to carry anything larger. I usually have 6+1 in the weapon and an extra mag of 6 in the pocket.

Be well . . .

A number of people complain about the "pocketability" of the G26/G27 series, but this is often because most front pockets today are made fairly shallow. I simply open up the bottom of the pocket and add 1" to 2" more length. You can do this with any sort of material you have available (it's invisible inside the trousers, so who cares if you use your wife's old itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny yellow polka-dot bikini? :D ). This makes pocket carry much, much more comfortable - and concealable - for the baby Glocks and for many other firearms.

If you can afford it, keep the G-26 and buy the PM-9.

My PM-9 is my daily carry pistol, and resides in a Desantis Nemesis pocket holster. However, it is not unusual for me to strap on the G-26 IWB along with the PM-9. Two spare mags for the G-26 on the belt and the 7 rd. mag spare in the offhand pocket for the PM-9 means that I am carrying 45 rounds of 147 gr. Ranger T, which should be sufficient no matter how bad a part of town I find myself in. Even then, it is an easy carry.

When I was trying to carry my G26, it was left at home most of the time.
The PM9 can be easily pocket carried in all but the tightest pants.
(Except for some jeans that have really shallow pockets.)
It also carries comfortably in most shorts for me.

I'm getting close to 1400 rounds through my PM9, and the only time it has hicupped was when I put the recoil spring in backwards.

All-black ones here in E. Tenn. run close to $600, w/o night sights.

The two PM9's I had were too finicky and unreliable, stick with the 26. I would carry my J-frame .38 before trusting a PM9.

I pocket carry the 26 in just about anything but jeans. You have to adjust your clothes, lifestyle and habits to carry a gun.

I simply open up the bottom of the pocket and add 1" to 2" more length. You can do this with any sort of material you have available (it's invisible inside the trousers, so who cares if you use your wife's old itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny yellow polka-dot bikini? ).

You get held up and the BG says "OK, empty your pockets". After he see's the itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny yellow polka-dot bikini, he dies laughing. :neener:

Who nees a gun?...................................... (I do, I do)
