As I practice with my G27 to replace G22 as my match gun, this guy is my inspiration (hope I get there before I die). :D

Youtube videos of hickok45 demonstrating G27 accuracy without grip extension (I feel guilty about my pearce grip extensions ... :uhoh:).

Why would you want to replace your Glock 22 with a 27 when the level of accuracy achievable with the G22 is much greater?

That guy is amazing, but I still like my grip extensions. I get greater accuracy and control every time. He should too, he talks about having big hands and all. To each his own.

Nah, grip extensions don't help, the pinky is overrated, doesn't help, those extensions always end up pinching me, roll with the way it was designed and you'll quickly see why he and I shoot them that way.

And I shoot my 27 way better than my 23, so I don't think that a 22 or 23 has a higher level of achievable accuracy, the baby Glocks are known for being the most accurate pound for pound, some people even shoot them better than their competition models.

I am very happy with how G22 shoots (will continue to be my best stock match gun). Since G27 is my designated carry/go to gun, the extra shooting practice/trigger time will help me in case I have to use it. We fight like we train. Besides, it will freak out other match shooters in the group. :D

I found this to be true too. G27 is more accurate than I can shoot right now (apparently from the above videos) and is matching G22's accuracy out to 15 yards. Currently with single aimed shots, I can get all of my groups within 1/2 sheet of 8x11 copy paper. I will be practicing shooting two 1/2 sheet targets shot to shot next. Double taps? I am not there YET.

For me, I do prefer the extra grip for my pinky using the pearce magazine extensions and they give me one more round in the magazine (10 vs 9 factory) for match shooting.

I tend to torque the gun around if I use the extensions, I think my pinky is rebellious compared to most peoples.

And my most impressive shooting feat, aside from breaking clay pigeons at thirty or forty yards with a Taurus PT-22 (more than one shot per, but I did it), was taking a shot at a bottle just in front of the 25 yard berm, it flew up, landed on top of the berm facing head on to me, and before it stopped moving I put a round directly through the cap with my 27. It was a quick pair of shots, I think a little luck might have been with me at the time.

It's a great gun though.

I would have a talk with that pinky! Show em who's the boss! :D

Actually, for stock G27/G26 shooting practice, my old range master (who taught PD/Sheriff SWAT teams) had us shoot with just the thumb/3rd finger and thumb/3+4 fingers. To our surprise, that's all you need to shoot them.

I like to use my G27 without an extension, however the Kaboom pics I have seen show everything tends to blow out down through the magazine. I don't think I want my pinky finger curled under the base plate if that should happen so I reluctantly use an extension. Just something to think about.

I use Lone Wolf 40-9 conversion barrel to shoot 9mm lead bullets. When I use the factory G27 barrel, I shoot jacked and plated bullets. I take a mini cleaning kit with me when I shoot and check barrels/clean as necessary. I do not reload to max charge to reduce case bulge or "Glocked" cases.

If a 40SW case has shown a case bulge or "smile" and it is subsequently resized to remove the bulge there is a "stress riser" where the crease was at the front of the bulge. If this happens to realign with the edge of the chamber on the next firing there is a greater chance of a case failure. The 40SW is relatively weaker in the web area than 9MM so given equal case histories the 40 is more likely to fail.

Knowing this I only use my own reloads and I don't want any part of my anatomy near the most likely places of shrapnel discharge.
