There was a classic 'internet panic' a while back on GlockTalk and elsewhere wherein some folks reported (right or wrong, for better or worse) that Glock was planning on discontinuing manufacturing the #3 follower for their magazines.

Many people (myself included) with NDF mags were worried about whether or not they would be able to keep these magazines functional.

Today I received 10 #3 followers from Glock, along with other parts. Glockmeister took the comments off his website about the shortage of #3 followers.... hrm.

Funny how the internet can cause such a quick panic - such as with the Glock frame recall debacle recently.

Glock has changed the follower design a couple of times to improve feeding. The "9mm 3" had been the latest, and most favored design, though I never had a problem with my earlier versions.

thats good to know, i like Glockmeister rebuild kits, its a little more costly but i like the ease of them. i have 7 nfml mags and i was begging to worry, i guess i had reached panic mode, i only had enough parts to rebuild 2, next nfml i see at a good price i might pick them up. Ronald

I prefer the original, non-drop free magazines for the Glock... though unloaded drop-free mags drop free, mostly.

I may need to clear a malfunction and would prefer to just get that mag out of there as quickly as possible - no matter how much ammo is in there.

Same here. I just like the way that the NDF's fit flush with the bottom of the grip instead of sticking out that little bit like the DF's do. They (NDF mags) just feel right..;)

After reading all the 9mm3 discontinuation messages in Glock Talk, which Glockmeister seemed to confirm, I called Glock and was advised that, no, the part had not been discontinued. I could practically hear the Glock rep chuckling at the other end of the line. The rumor sure blazed up and ignited a lot of Glock buffs, myself included.

Just to be on the safe side, though, I later ordered a dozen 9mm3 followers from one of the online Glock OEM parts distributors (not Glockmeister). Anything to keep all those expensive hi-caps happy.
