I have left mine completely stock, just as it left the factory. It shoots great, and if I'm ever in a situation where I have to use it I won't have any "modifications" to justify or defend.

You and I think much alike....:)

Just sent my contact information for my Illinois CCW classes. We can't actually send our apps until January but Illinois has just approved teachers/instructors and I'll (hopefully) be in the first classes of folks training in Illinois....the last state in the nation to deal with CCW.

They don't want us to carry in Illinois....they have fought it at every turn. I think it's my duty to get my permit no matter how high they have set the standard which is 16 hours of training including live fire proficiency. They'll be watching the first of us to get licensed like hawks, no doubt.

I'm ordering my G26 this week so I can get familiarized with her before my classes.

You'll love the G26. It's what I carry daily. I modify all my Glocks, as I don't like the "standard" triggers. I don't worry about having to justify anything, in a legitimate case of s.d.; however, if I lived (does anybody really "live" in IL?;)), I'd probably leave it stock.

Down here in the U.S., we don't have to worry so much about the kind of oppression that you outside the U.S. have to worry about.

I just picked up a G26 thursday. I havent shot it yet, but I have been carrying my G27 for the last seven years. The G27 was my first glock purchase and it is hard for me to leave it in the safe, so it gets carried the most (other than my duty pistol). It really disappears in my Galco Kink Tuk holster. One thing I like about Glocks is that I can carry my G17,G22,G23,G26,G27, and 30s in this holster.

These are the things that has turned me to Glocks...the accessories, the interchangeability, the Glock community, etc. This is my first "modern" pistol as all my past loves have been stuff like a Beretta 92S (before the military adopted it!! :what:) a Colt Officers ACP in .45, various revolvers in .357/.38 and of course my Colt Model M's.

I'm looking forward to moving ahead with plastic now that I have learned to appreciate it. Can't think of a better introduction to modern pistols than one of Gaston Glock's kids.

I'm gonna love feeding and cleaning this one - I'm ordering it this evening.

Hilarious....no visuals please. :D

It's on order...brand spanking new G26 Gen4 headed my way. Should be here by the weekend but since it's being shipped to the local GS I don't have tracking information. So, I gotta just sit here and fret until I get the call.

Got 3 pounds of Unique powder coming as well so maybe I'll start rounding up some 9mm brass.

My first "modern" pistol as I have not bought a new piece since the mid 1980's. This is gonna be sweet.

i got the g36 and g30. i like both. they both are easy to shoot and are good guns. but i carry the g23 on and off duty. when it comes to size the g23 is just as easy to carry as the g36/g30 and has more rounds.

Have not shot the G30. I have had a G36 for years. Love it. It has never failed to work properly. Accurate. Easy to carry.

I carry a 36 iwb with an spare magazine.
Don't try a G26 - it might ruin you. It did me - I carried and shot .45s since 1980, right up until I shot the G26. Modern quality 9mm ammo has closed the gap with .45acp, and the speed and accuracy of the 26 in my hands is much better than the 36.

I shoot the 30 better than the 36 (especially after the seventh round) but the 26 is literally twice as fast and just as accurate. It is also easier to carry and conceal. YMMV.

I looked at the 30 and 36 side by side. I decided the 36 was not that much smaller and bought the 30.

I owned a G30 for two years...it shot great, very accurate. In fact, it was that G30 that got me back into Glocks after a very long hiatus.
Eventually, I decided to get a 9mm Glock for cheaper practice and Glock trigger time. I stumbled into a deal on a used G26 from a guy who found he didn't like the lack of a manual safety...$275!
I shot the little G26 so well, and it carried so easily, that I rarely shot the G30, and ended up selling it.
The G26 really is one of Glocks best.
