Glock 30sf questions.

Looking for a tough, reliable, durable ccw weapon. 2 that i am considering are the glock26 and the Glock 30sf. Got rid of my g19, could not get used to the grip...i think the sub compact grip will fit me better...
Question is i know the 26 will fit all of my requirements, but the power of the. 45 acp cartridge is quite attractive! Soo would the 30sf be as tought as my g19 or the g26? Heard of people running many thousands of rds through 17's. 19's and 26's. Would i assume that the 30sf will be as durable(even with the power of the. 45)

I have both the 26 and the 30sf. The 30sf is about the size of the 19. Is it as rugged? Hard to say. Glock made their name on 9mm. Search glock kaboom and you find instances of the .45 failing but few if any cases of the 9mm failing. I certainly don't worry about its durability at all. The 26 is significantly smaller than the 30sf.

I don't see why not....

I own both the 30sf and the 26. I've got close to 5000 rounds through the 26 with no problems. I have found the Glocks to be tough and reliable.

I agree with Dirt Diver. I don't think you can go wrong with the 26. Having said that, if you made me give up the 30sf or the 26, it would be the 26.

I carried a G30 for several years, before I wised up and acquired a G26, which I've been carrying daily for some time now. Like 'em so much that I bought one for my daughter and one of my sons.

The G26 is just lighter and easier to conceal than a G30 (haven't tried the sf), and the so-called "superior" power of the .45acp is just bloviation.

I agree on the weight and concealability advantage of the 26, but there are lots of small, concealable 9's (hence my comment about giving up the 26 is forced). The number of compact 10 round .45s is smaller. The 30sf is my home/camping/hiking gun (I think the 30 "SF" has zero concealability advantage relative to the 30). I have a number of smaller options including the g26 for deeper concealment.

The 30SF is one tough, reliable, and accurate weapon! For concealability, it is thick so unless you've got a gut or are wearing loose clothing, concealability will be trickier than with other subcompact Glocks.

If you can, rent and shoot both before you decide. The 30 fits my hand and points instinctively for me, which the 26 doesn't. I shoot the 30 much better than the 26, but not everyone does.

The 26 conceals better, and ammo is cheaper. Here in CA, 10+1 is all you get, so the capacity is the same. If you buy into the "9mm is as good as .45acp" theory some use, either one will be fine. I don't - so my primary SD handgun had been a 1911 for the last 30 years. The 30 is replacing the 1911 as 1st choice in CCW for me.

If I were buying a new 26, I'd probably get a 27 and a Lone Wolf conversion barrel. My nephew bought a 27, and found it was a bit harsh on the range. I suggested a LW 9mm conversion, which he bought - and he loves it! Shooting the 9mm has improved his .40 shooting, as well. He's lost that flinch that was developing...it's nice to be able to practice light and carry heavy.
