Been thinking about this gun vs. a Glock 21. Who makes .45G.A.P. cartridges now? Any good reviews that are out there? Personal experiances?

I carry Ranger SXT from Winchester, so hopefully they make this round...

Definitely check out glock talk. Was recently reading a thread where someone found a source of ammo that runs about $15 per box.

My only personal observation of the gun is that several high volume local shops haved failed to sell a single one or any ammo. In contrast the same shops haved moved a number of more expensive S&W 500s and cannot seem to keep the ammo in stock. One yahoo bought 4 boxes at fifty bucks a pop. Whatever niche the 37 was designed to market to is either very small or very unimpressed. If you like it, get one before it becomes a collectible.:neener:

WOW :what: that price is crazy :cuss:

Oh well, I'll stick to the 21. speaking of which, how many rounds on the high-cap?

Being an LEO helps, that way i can get new high caps...Hopefully the law sunsets and everyone can get them

All I hear about the 45 Short pistol is disappointment over the fact that it is no smaller than the 45 ACP model. The frame is 9mm size and that's good but it is negated by the 45 sized slide.

Guess I'll just stick to .45ACP in the Glock, or better yet get another H&K USP or a SigSauer....

Too many guns, not enough monies... :D

Glock could have made a slimmer-grip G21 by using a metal 10 round "stack-and-a-half magazine like the KZ-45 has, re-designing the grip accordingly, and kept the .45 ACP caliber. Since the 37 seems to have no real overall size advantage over the 21 aside from a skinnier grip, it sure makes like the .45 GAP seem like a waste of time... at least in the 37 platform.

And $15/50 factory ammo? Jeez, you can shop around and get 10mm for more like $10/50.

I'm a Glock nut, and I've passed over G37's for S&W revolvers of all things. If you already have a Glock 17, 19, 20, 26, 30, 31, and 32, then I'd recommend you consider a 37. :)

I like the feel of the grip better but yes, it's too large. SD ammo is much cheaper than I thought.

They should have built a slim G-26 & 27 first! :cuss:

Wow, the 37 hasn't even been out a season yet  and it's got all this negativity surrounding it. Is this a result of bad press, bad first impressions or a bad design? With all that against it, it would have to be a GREAT performer just to be considered mediocre.

The width (side to side) of a handgun grip isn’t the only thing that makes it uncomfortable or hard to hang on to/control… the length (front to back) of a grip is also a factor to consider… I know I don’t find the G36’s grip to be that entire great… too long front to back.

To solve both problems (& then some others) GLOCK made an all-new gun… the G37.

GLOCK went after this market: (No particular order.)

#1 People who subscribe to the “big bullet†theory.
#2 People who want a powerful, fairly fast yet controllable round/platform.
#3 People who want an out of the box reliable, hollow-point firing platform.
#4 People who want high capacity with compactness. (which means double stack)
#5 People who want a grip that isn’t too thick side to side.
#6 People who want a grip that isn’t too long front to back.
#7 People who want a lightweight gun.
#8 People who aren’t worried about concealed carry, because it’ll be an ‘open carry’ sidearm anyways.
#9 People who are going to be issuing this gun to several types of statures.
#10 People who don’t want short, light triggers of a single action for their limited trained personnel.
#11 People that don’t want a ‘safety’ lever, to forget about flipping off, for their limited trained personnel.
#12 I’m sure there are others too I forgetting about…

What other well known gun/manufacture out there would fill all of the above?

GLOCK was going after more of the LEO market with this one, knowing all well that the G37 could very well fit CCW needs/wants too.

As always, only time will tell what the market will do. I recall hearing some of the same arguments against the .40 cal. back when…….

I think the G37 was WELL thought out… I think it was pure genius of GLOCK, especally knowing that a lot of LEO agencies are “all about what’s newâ€.

I have a Glock 37. It will fit a 21 holster. The pressure is only 23,000, compared to 21,000 for the .45 ACP. If this is considered low pressure, maybe I will be able to load lead bullets in it. Winchester makes a 230 grain cartridge for it, I have fired 4 rounds out of 1. It feels like it kicks less than the 200 grain. This should be even better for bowling pin matches. I could not get the fingers of my shooting hand around the front of the 21 with any degree of authority. Oh, come on you guys, what other excuse do you need to buy another handgun? Tell your spouses, "But honey, it's not the same caliber."

$329 from where? I'm seriously considering "pulling the trigger" on one of those $379 37s, even though I don't really need another full size semi auto pistola.
