I think you are on to something with the grip, VooDoo. I've seen elsewhere where thumbs/grip is a problem theory.
Saw a YouTube video also where thumb rubbing slide was causing issue.. Little different but it's just the larger framed, more powerful guns aren't bothered by the thumbs on the slide most times if at all.
