Glock 48

I’m certainly no expert but, although I like the feel of the 48, I just don’t see enough advantage over the 19 to give up the Glock magazine versatility and I find myself wondering about long term robustness with the reduced slide mass. I like it, but not enough to replace my Glock 19...or my 26. In fairness, I should add I consider the G19 as a pistol that is carryable should I find it necessary but is not something I regularly rely on for carry. My low key lifestyle usually calls for something smaller. Smaller than the G48, too.

The draw is a slimmer frame/slide than the G19 with the same magazine capacity if you utilize the Shield offering. It’s much more comfortable IWB carry that my G19 or G32

I’ve had a G43 for several years. I bought the G48 as my retirement EDC. The reason for not buying a G43X was that I can put the slide of my G43 on the frame of my G48 and turn it into a G43X.
I did buy two of the Shield Arms 15 round mags and they work great.

That’s the Apex trigger on the G48. It was easy to install. The reason I went with the Apex is that it was the only complete trigger assembly in red that I could find at the time.

I wanted to like the G48. I liked the way it felt in my hand . . . . until I shot it. Didn't like that at all, for some unknown reason. With that said, the fact that the Shield Arms mags appear to work well changes the equation for me. I keep thinking, "G19 profile, but thinner, with 15+1 on tap. That's a hard combination to beat. Maybe I could get used to it."

The big plus is that it’s easier to conceal. I carry mine in a outside the wasteland holster and have had a few friends ask me why I didn’t have my gun on my.

I shot one at a range demo. Seems like a good choice in the light belt gun category, but I have slipped to pocket carry and will make do with G43 and similar.

Lucky... I was never a fan of paddle holsters until the Gunny turned me on to these. I have two now and a third on the way. These are like no paddle holster you've ever seen and like him, I'm totally sold on them.
