Glock dropped in a bucket of drano

Ask yourself this:

You find a bucket of draino which stood for a week, with a:
Glock 17
1911
XD
S&W 19
and your favorite gun
inside the bucket.

All guns are loaded and the ammo will work. You can only grab one to defend you life, you're dead if it doesn't work. Which one will you grab.

Answer to yourself, be honest.

Honestly I would pick my favorite gun a stainless model 60 revolver.

Seriously think about it for a second. Drano will seep into the glock and ruin what parts that are not Polymer or coated in tennifer? Also any semi-auto is going to be a one shot deal, that slide recoiling back is going to give you a nice spray of drano.

Aside from my earlier post regarding the Glock, since it's what I own, or asking Jack Bauer, who would probably pick an HK or a Sig, I think now that I've given it more thought, I would probably grab the first one I could reach, and go from there :)

I mean, if you're choices are a pile of guns in a bucket of drano, your life's on the line, depending on the lighting, the clarity of the drano after a week of a handful of guns sitting in it, you may not have the patience or ability to see which gun you're choosing.

I'm just sayin...

I think it is time to start a new thread... "What happens when you drop a Sigma into a bucket of drano?" :p :D

Only one flaw so far for the mighty and knowledgable Jorg. There is no charge 8 white bag unless it was invented by Gaston specifficaly for the Glock. It becomes a red bag at charge 8. Steel Rain!!!

You know, in the back of my mind, that's what I remembered too, but it's been so many years, I googled it to make sure I was remembering right.

Then I found this: http://sill-www.army.mil/FAMAG/1984/NOV_DEC_1984/NOV_DEC_1984_PAGES_20_24.pdf

M109A2 and M109A3 howitzers—GB M3 and M3A1 charges 2, 3, 4, and 5; WB M4A1 and M4A2 charges 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 (charge 1 must not be fired in the M109A2, M109A3, or M198 howitzer tubes because of stickers); M119A1 and M119A2, charge 8 white bag and charge 7 red bag (the M119A2 charge 7 red bag is equivalent to the M119/M119A1 charge 8 white bag.

And http://sill-www.army.mil/FAMAG/2004/MAR_JUN_2004/PAGE55-56.pdf
M119 (Charge 7 Red Bag)

And a few others. My brother was a Paladin crew chief, I'll ask him next time I talk to him. My MOS, while in arty, didn't play with powder much.

Hell Jorg, who knows. We laid off the Paladins for two years because we deployed as infantry, so maybe there have been some advancements. I have never heard of a charge 8 white bag, but I had never heard of a copperhead round until right before we deployed.

Perhaps the charge 8 white bag is a secret invention of Gaston Glock made specifically for the new Glock 44, fully automatic .44 Magnum sub-compact. Holds fourty rounds of .44 mag in the fully redesigned, all steel, tripple stacked, ultra slim magazines. Has a cyclic rate of 3,400 rounds per minute and tripled the XD's torture test. After being dropped from 1,000 feet above the ozone layer, into a burning white phosphorus dump it was immediately submerged in Drano Max Gel for 6 weeks. Upon removing the new Glock 44 it was discovered that not only had the Tenifer not been harmed it was actually much stronger than before. In fact the new Tenifer was so strong it actually managed to repel the Drano and caused it to overrun the sides of the test bucket. The Drano treatment also caused the Glock 44 to shoot faster than before. An amazing 4,000 rpm was recorded immediatley after removing the indestructable, wonder pistol from the Drano (without lubrication of course). The new Glock comes with three Picatinny rails to mount a forward grip, flash light, laser, infrared targeting device, and even an M203 grenade launcher. Better get yours today. Rumor has it that the Mall of America security force is planning to issue these new weapons by early next week. And of course, this new Glock is also perfectly capable of firing a 155 round with a charge 8 white bag.

Jorg, your Post #2 goes in my Quotes file, with your permission. :D

I wasn't going to post, just planned to enjoy reading the thread, but

I think that I'm the first one to pick the Smith Model 19. I'm puzzled by that, but I'm pleased that rudolf put it on the list. Bill Jordan's brainchild is the one of these that I'm sure I can hit with (along with "my favorite gun"--a Python that someone has let me shoot).

Seriously, after a week in Drano, I'd grab any of these and expect the pistol itself to work just fine, given rudolf's condition for this thought experiment that "the ammo will work." Please correct me if I'm wrong.

That Glocks don't seem to fit my...oops...umm, that my hand is the wrong shape for Glocks is a separate issue. ;)

Wow, next Glock i get I'm going to have "Zombie, Demon" engraved on the side.:D :D :D :D :D

So I tried it and it shoots just like it did before the Drano. There are two steel parts on the frame above the trigger that looked like some rust or corrosion forming.

hey I'm just the last (for now) poster... Glocks are ugly and can only be rendered more ugly by Drano... or... they might achieve the same ugliness... but who am i to judge :p

eh, Drano is packaged, warehoused, and shipped in plastic bottles... I'm guessing the frame will be fine. I'm not sure about the Tenifer though.

Since this thread started, I got a couple of SKS's.

I wanna know if that bucket of drano will get this cosmo goo off them.

Nope. Only building an altar in your garage, praying to old gods, and waving of dead chickens fully removes cosmoline.
