I am considering modifying my G36's trigger guard (underside) to provide relief for the 2nd knuckle of my right hand middle finger. The short grip of the G36 forces me to 'cram' my 3 non-trigger fingers into a too-short space. I believe that removing a very small amount of material from beneath the G36's trigger guard will solve the problem I have.

Has anyone done such a modification on a Glock? If so, how did you accomplish it (I think a Dremel tool with a 1/2-inch sanding drum set on a slow speed (so as not to melt the plastic) will work. Any pics will be appriciated.

I think a Dremel at low speed is still going to melt more then it cuts.

I'd use a round file to make the mod, followed by fine sandpaper on the round file to smooth it up.

When you get that far, use a low flame propane torch to melt off & smooth the remaining whiskers of plastic.

I used a Dremel with a sanding drum to do some inletting on a plastic ATI stock without it melting as long as I wasn't doing it for extended periods of time... say 30 consecutive minutes without a little break.

Not exactly the same, I know, but its close enough I thought I should mention it. I think I had the Dremel speed set to 4.

In my case, I only had to worry about melting if doing it for extended periods on time without letting it cool down because a little material would stick to the sanding drum. It was the plastic stuck on the sanding drum rubbing up against more plastic that did minor melting. It was also like 100 freaking degrees outside.
