After 6K rounds out of my G35, the recoil spring assembly does show some wear on the front end, but still works fine.

I'm sure it'll last a long time. You'll be surprised of what Glock can offer you.

The polymer guide rods are rated at 6k rounds, but that is on the low side. You could probably get 8-10k with the average one. The good news is that they're pretty cheap to replace (just like most of GLOCK parts).

Be sure that it is seated correctly or it will get damaged. Don't worry that when you go to field strip the pistol, it has moved. This is normal, but before reassembly, make sure it rests back in it's little nook.

I think hate is a strong word. I will just say that I did not LIKE Glocks. Then I made the mistake of renting one at my range. Mistake. Now I am the proud owner of a G26. Enjoy you new gun and shoot safe.

I started with a new G21 in 10/2005, and 10,000 + rounds later, I've yet to change out any parts.

Same story with my G17, purchased 06/2006, 10,500 + rounds, and not one hiccup!

Looks like Judy's G19 will be the same story...

I did order replacement guide rod/springs, but haven't opened them yet.

That ain't Kool-Aid, folks, it's history! ;)

Good luck with your G21! :)

I am totally interested to hear how the mags with the Arrendondo floor plates extensions work for you. I had considered buying a few for some of my magazines but the price always persuaded me to just buy another 13 rounder for my G21.

In 1999 my wife bought me a G34 for out 1st aniversary. I always take it to the range no matter what other weapon I'm actually going to test or practice with. Aside from the senitmental value, my G34 is simply fun to shoot. Dead on accurate, and little to no recoil. over 8k rounds through it now and still going strong. I carry a G21 with night sights or a G26 with a crimson trace on a daily basis because I absolutey know they will never fail me. Welcome to the family of ugly black-gun owners!!!!!!

Oh yeah, Cheapest gock mags I can find: http://www.botachtactical.com/

I checked these out online and they are not cheap, $35 for the base + spring. I could get 2 13rds for that price, but since they came "for free" so to speak I'll let you know how they work.

I finally got to the range today and shot my G21 in our defensive pistol match. :D Let me tell you I'm hooked that is one sweet shooting pistol! Recoil and muzzle flip was almost non-existant. I'm very pleased with the pistol and the Arredondo mag extensions functioned flawlessly. 17rds of .45ACP is quite a hefty magazine.:D I think the mag itself could do some serious damage. I'm not sure if I would have purchased the extensions, but since they came with the purchase I'm going to run with them.

Lets all sing the Koolaid jingle for him.
("Koolaid, Koolaid taste great, wish I had some can't wait). Welcome to Glock world,, just when you think your out, they pull you back in:banghead:. You know your a gonner now, it only gets worse from here on in. Just learn to except it and love it. Have fun and welcome to the dark side.

Glock-a-holics meets here every day.

Hi ....my name is Don and I own two Glocks...

It does get easier once you admit it.

Those glocks may be uber reliable, but they are the ugliest and least ergonomic fitting guns ive ever encountered. Lets hear it for single stack, single action! Oh...my...god...I just became that weirdo 1911 guy...Ive got to stop posting for a while

These things multiply! :what: I was in to the toy store this evening and this little gem followed me home. $399.00 with 2 mags and box. Not too shabby if I say so myself.

Just because you don't prefer them doesn't mean you shouldn't have one. If anything, if rather hear a negative opinion from someone who owns one that someone who refuses to use one.

I plan on picking one up in the future because they ARE so reliable, I just really dont like the ergonomics of the pistol...I have handled them before, its not like I just looked at a picture and said "eeeew...icky" :p

40 year gun dealer

when glock first introduced the G17, I was a gun dealer for many years, and anyway I took a glock out of the box and shoot it for 20,000 rounds, never cleaned it, all good quality reloads (myself done) and it just went bang every time.(not in one shooting session). I quit because even reloading back then was not cheap and I just didn't forsee the darn thing every failing,un less I caused it by a bad round. But that is the truth, so help me. My sons G19 so far has been flawless but has only abouot 2000 rounds through it. Indiana state pooice went to the G17 a few years back they at first bought the G22 and had all kinds of problems with them, and glock finally took them back and they went to the G17. They love um..

great guns IMO.

Now I know what all the Glock fuss is about!!

Hi all
This is my first post although I've been lurking around the forum for a while!!

I have always avoided anything to do with Glocks..didn't look right, heard the trigger was rubbish, all that plastic on a handgun??!!

After putting a hundred rounds thru my PT1911 at the Top Gun range in Houston I stopped by the rental counter on the way out and out of sheer curiosity rented a G17 with a box of ammo!

After the first magazine I stopped and stared at this gun! Head shaking..what the... It was comfortable, recoil was light, the trigger didn't seem bad at all- my finger seemed to have an understanding with it! And the group at about 7 yards was good! More magazines followed at longer ranges and the gun was handed back by a convertee!!

Since then I've played with the G34- didn't like it so much, recoil cycle (muzzle flip) seemed too slow and trigger mushy. Went back to the G17 and all was well again.
So, my next purchase will definetely be a Glock- probably a G17 and I'm looking forward to putting some serious rounds thru it.
Cheers

I've never had any problems with Glocks. They point well and work even better.

IF I was going to accept a partial trade for my CZ-USA custom stainless 75B, it would be for a MINTY Glock 19.

The 10mms are to harsh on recoil for me, and the .45 ammo is too expensive for my limited income.

The G19 seems like the all-around Glock to have one or more of:)

Welcome aboard roo...

How many rounds was out of the G34? There's a G35 at my local rental range that has seen thousands of thousands of rounds a week and the trigger is so smooth..like butter. Most likely the G17 has been shot more than the G34.

Welcome aboard.

I like mine also?

I have a .40 and a .45 they fit my hand so well, estheticaly pleasing.
cant wait to get one in 9mm.

Oh my bad, thought you were talking about the M&P:D
