Just came back from the range and noticed that the hex head screw and bushing for my Glock guide rod (stainless) is gone...no clue how long it's been lost (I didn't realize the gun would function fine without it). That'll teach me for not putting Loctite on it. For now I put in the stock plastic guide rod...

Where can I buy this part?

Edit: Do I even really need the hex screw?

I do not think you "need" it, you're set up is now non-captured as opposed to captured. Easier to change springs now but I prefer the captured set up because the non-captured is a pain for me to put in.

OK, so you've experienced an aftermarket parts failure (yes, loss of a hex nut is a failure), has your plastic guide rod ever failed? Why did you replace it in the first place?

I actually purchased the gun from someone else...came with the stainless steel rod installed.

I don't consider the hex nut loss a failure. Does not affect function. Annoying but not alarming.

suggestion

There's always good ol' Brownells. When my dad wanted a stupid adjustable rear sight for his Beretta 92, the technicians talked to him over the phone and found a rear sight that would still be an adjustable type but didn't require any permanent changes to the gun. Give them a try just to see what they have to say. It's hard to beat free advice. :)
p.s. what's been going on? any good news from the east? Later Bro.
