Last week I bought a Glock 31 and today was really the first day I’ve had a chance to shoot. So I start loading magazines and it seems like the 15th round went in fairly easy, so I try to load another, it goes in fine. I am looking at the ammo box counting the empty holes and sure enough there are 16 rounds gone. I do the same thing with the second magazine. I didn’t have much time (but the thing has been sitting around a week and I couldn’t take it anymore) so I only shot those 32 but the extra rounds didn’t cause any malfunctions.

Has any one else experienced this with these or the .40 magazines? I bought the gun used and I got to thinking maybe the mags had been modified, is that possible?

It's possible to get an extra round in older "standard" capacity Glock mags. Glock warns against this practice, as damage to the mag spring will result.

Greg,

No extensions, at least not the ones that can be seen from the outside. I am going to take one apart tonight and see if I can see anything. Thanks for the reply though.

Rockstar,
When you say older do you mean pre-ban? The gun was shipped in January '05. I say I bought the gun used, it was very lightly used. If it hadn't been labeled as used I wouldn't have known. It still had most of the copper grease inside. The magazines are the same way, they are the ones that shipped with the gun.
