Hi All
I am looking to get a Drop in Replacement barrel for a Glock 23. I am looking for recordation's on what mfg you would recommend. I am sort of leaning toward a Bar-Sto barrel due to there reputation for being a very good barrel and very accurate. They seem to run just over $200. so its about twice the price of say a Lone Wolf barrel. Am I just spending extra or is the Bar-Sto really worth the extra dough?

I am looking for a barrel that has a fully supported chamber and is Drop in. I will be using it to shoot reloads and will swap back to the standard barrel every now and then.

Also can anyone recommend a good online dealer that might carry the Bar-Sto barrels and or the others that you would recommend.

Thanks
WB

I have a G22 Gen 4 in which I use both a Storm Lake .40 barrel and a Lone Wolf 357Sig barrel. Both work perfectly with no fitting. I investigated other makes but could not justify the extra cash for a barrel that would never be any more accurate. Both my aftermarket barrels have fully supported chambers, as does the factory Gen4 .40 barrel.

I have a 40 cal strom lake, and a 9mm lone wolf conversion barrel for my 23. Both have been 100%, and dropped fit without any modification.

Just this past week I received my long-awaited black, threaded LWD barrel for my G17 . Did a little testfiring, and it works beautifully. Fit and finish are superb. Eagerly anticipating receiving my can in 8-9 months.

For quality, BarSto or KKM. The Barsto has to be fitted, the KKM offers drop in barrels and fit barrels. I buy the drop in KKM barrels and they're fantastic, they run $165.

I have Lone Wolf barrels for my Glock models: 19 (2 of them), 23 (2 or them), 26, 27, 30SF and I bought and sold one model 27 40-9 conversion. Sold it because I bought the G26.

I am quite pleased with them all with regard to accuracy, feeding, reliability, being drop-in ready and etc.

In between the BarSto at the top end and the LWM barrels at the bottom end of the price range are EFK Dragonfire and Storm Lake. I've had examples from all four manufacturers, and my current preference is for the EFK for a true drop-in barrel. My Storm Lake barrels were very tightly chambered and gave feed issues (even after a trip back to Storm Lake), my LWM barrel didn't have the quality of the others, and the BarSto needed the hood dressed to size to fit but is otherwise flawless.

I have lone wolf 9mm barrel for my glock 23 and it works great. I have a friend who has several glocks and competes with some. He uses KKM barrels in all his matches.

I prefer KKM as a true drop in. BarSto requires minor fitting. If that is not objectionable than either or.

Too many unknowns in the amateurish Youtube video linked in a previous post.

Chamber support? Check this pic and decide for yourself between KKM and LWD.

I have a Storm Lake 9mm conversion barrel and a Lone Wolf 357 Sig barrel for my G23. They both work without any problems. This combination makes it possible to use three cartridges in one pistol. That is handy in this stupid ammo shortage situation...

Purchased a Lonewolf 6" 10mm barrel about 4 months ago. I also have a standard length G-20 barrel that was purchased from them about 5 years ago.

New Lonewolf 10mm barrel on left, old Lonewolf barrel on right. You be the judge.

Needless to say, the new Lonewolf was sent back and I purchased a 6" SL instead. It is pictured below.

You don't need to concern yourself with the .40/9 conversion barrel. I've been posting on these forums for a long time, and I don't remember ever hearing of a 9mm Glock's KBing. Maybe it's happened, but, if it has, it's extremely rare.

Good to know hentown. Couse i made some hot reloads. Not on the +p side. But 2k psi under max of standard loads. I dont need or want to lead +p
