I'm going to buy one of these guns tommorow but I can't decide which one I want. They both feel fine in my hand, and i know they are both fine weapons and are very reliable. If anyone owns one or both please give me your opinions as might help me decide.I'm not buying one of these for any particular reason other than I like them both and I want to buy another gun but I can only afford one.BTW are cz picky about ammo? Thanks.

I went w/ the G19...as I've said numerous times in the past, Glock did its best work in 9mm and the G19 is the cream of that crop!

I've also said that Glock makes the best 9mm. Reliable, Accurate and Indestructible.

Teh Glock 17/19/26 & 34 best of breed

The G19 is a great gun. So is the CZ P01. If both feel great in your hand that leaves it to operating mechanism. Would you prefer the striker fired DAO Glock 19, or the DA/SA hammer fired CZ P01 (or the CZ-75 compact which is DA/SA, but has the ability to operate SA only with manual safety). Shoot them if you can and see if one points more naturally than the other for you.

Thanks for the input guys,I think I'm leaning torwds the g19.I'll let you know how it turns out.

If the G19 is so perfect, what does it matter what the resale value is?

I would go with the P-01. I'm sick of striker fired plastic after all these years.

I don't have any experience with CZ pistols, so all I can say is, the G19 is a great choice. The 9mm is where Glock tends to really shine.

I prefer the compact CZ-75D PCR over the P-01. Its a similar gun without the lightrail. I have a bunch of compact 9MM's and its my favorite. I like th G19, but love the CZ,

If it matters to you, standard capacity magazines are a lot easier to find for the Glock than the CZ.

Probably cannot go wrong with either.

Weight difference is minimal with the G19 being somewhat lighter.

Trigger action, either way will need mastering (or at least excellent familarization), Glocks being somewhat "spongey" (to my way of thinking) with short reset, CZ having the DA/SA difference to deal with.

Holsters are probably easier found for Glocks.

I really like my Glock(s). I really like my CZ's. One is mainstream the other somewhat... bohemian in that it's not as popular to the masses. Both are fine little 9's. Well, not so little, but you know... both will do the job.

If you like to tinker, the Glock is pretty easy to deal with. I've never delved into the innards of my CZ's.

I do shoot my Glocks far more than the CZs (whatever that's worth) YMMV

I qualify Expert or Distinguished Expert with the dept's Glock 19s every year. Can't stand 'em. Horrible grip angle, feels like a plastic brick, had more than one fail on the Dept range while qualifying. I can't stand the trigger system, I don't believe it is a "safe" system at all. Personal quirk.
I've carried a PO1 for years now. Fits me like a custom made glove. Put some Crimson Trace Lasergrips on it, very nice. Accurate as the day is long, only failures I have had were my own reloads, too long OAL. I have gotten 2.5 inch groups, standing two hand hold, at 25 yards. YMMV.

This is how I feel about my CZ.

BTW, MecGar now makes the 14 round Compact mag, (fits all PCR/PO1/Compact CZs),for under $20. Holsters are available from a wide range of makers, including High Noon, Bianchi, and Galco.

If you see yourself carrying in the near future then go with the G19. CZ makes amazing firearms, as does Glock. I have yet to have a single malfunction with CZ, and that's with various brands of ammo. Don't worry about resale value, there's no reason to sell either one. :D

You guys are making this a hard choice lol.I'm waiting for the gun shop to open so i will have to decide soon. Thanks

The PO1 is very easy to get magazines for, no doubt. That is an absolute non-issue. Durability is one, too, as the P01 endured quite the stringent torture test to gain NATO issue certification.

I would go with the CZ.

Nice pic, armoredman. :) I'm 95% on my next pistol being a .45 as I don't need another 9mm, but there's just something about the P-01. You get the great reputation of CZ accuracy and reliability in a pistol that looks soo comfortable...it just wants to be held. You're making it very tough for me to resist. That thing looks like it was custom built for my hands.

I just got back from the gun shop I ended up getting a G21sf.I did not plan on buying a 45,but once I picked up the gun I knew I wanted it.I'm still going to get a g19 or po1 or both but today I got side tracked. Thanks again guys for your opinions.

I've heard good things about the G21SF. I'm not a fan of full-sized handguns but I would have no problem with getting a G21SF for home defense.
