I'd like to learn more about modern adhesives.
My personal experience with the newer generation stuff is pretty limited.
And mostly involving 1911's.
Here are my oldies but goodies.
I use:
JB Weld....securing 1911 trigger overtravel screws, bedding Dawson rails, on 1911 plunger tube rivets in addition to proper staking. Filling in factory ambi safety cuts in the RH grip panel to allow remachining for a precision fit.
Loctite red #271..... front sights, trigger overtravel screws, loose ejectors, grip screw bushings.
Loctite blue #242...rear sight set screws.
Super glue gel.... securing front sight plastic inserts.
Contact cement...bead blast cabinet gloves and trim.
Devcon Plastic Welder, two part epoxy.....this stuff is impressive. I have rebuilt the screw mounts of my '74 K10 instrument panel.
3M Liquid Bandage....great stuff for those dings and slices in the hands.
More later.
