I am reloading (lee hand loader) 410 2 1/2 AA shells. Not able to crimp with the 3 inch loader, can anyone suggest the proper glue to keep the overshot card in place? I am not interested in roll crimping , just being able to place the card and glue will be the easiest. thanks,

Over the years, I have used waterglass, Elmer's Glue, silicone seal, and Hot Stuff CYA.

If the wad will stay in place while the glue dries, Elmer's white wood glue works as well as anything else, and is much cheaper then CYA.

If you have to hold pressure on the wad to keep it in place, instant Hot Stuff or Crazy Glue is best, as it sets instantly.

I also use Duco as it works the best of all methods that I have tried. The hot glue will gum up the barrel slightly on all of my 410's and is not easy to remove. I did purchase a rotary roll crimper that is used on an electric drill as I was using the same setup on plastic hulls as you are.

410 reloading

lots of good ideas, thanks, will use elmers i have on hand and will send off to Midway for the roll crimper. Got about 100 rounds to reload(2 1/2 inch) for my son to pop with his 410 on our week long pheasant/rabbit pigeon hunt. thanks to all who responded.
