.308 is way overkill, travel light. A SU-16 and Winchester black box does the trick for me. Hide behind some-thing-..not your camo. Camo helps, but your hunting a predator not deer.

Ditch everything, and take the .223 AR. .308 is way over the top for ki-yotes.
 
Indeed, the AR-10 .308 I'm using is way overkill, but my AR-15 is a carbine and not set up for longer shots. Should I get a red-dot sight for my AR-15? It's got a flat top w/ detachable carry handle and a fixed front sight, so i can't put a normal scope on it. Would it be accurate enough to 200 yards w/ an Eotech? I was using the .308 just cause I'm probably not going to use the pelt, and I'm dead accurate with that thing to about 400 yards. I wish I had a Rem 700 varmint in .223...
