***I'm probably going to get a Service grade. The CMP currently has both Springfield Armory and H&R ones in...is any one more "desirable" than the other?
***Is it smarter to go for a higher grade that MAY need some 'fixing up,' or to go for a lower grade that you pretty well KNOW will need some fixing up (but you save money up front)?
No, going to the stores ain't an option for me, just too far away.
***About how long does it take for the GCA to enroll you as a member once they get the form & payment? I didn't think to make a copy of my application beforehand to send off with my order...
***I don't see much need for modern ammo at the moment, but if I did - how much of a chore is it to install one of the adjustable gas plugs into the rifle to handle the hotter modern loads?
***How much notice do you get when they're ready to ship? I hear they ship overnight when the time comes - I want to make sure that someone will be HOME to get it!
Hmmm, that's about it for now. Thanks (and feel free to chime in with any other advice for a Garand n00b as well!)
