My daughter was just convicted of a class A misdemeanor here in TX. Attempt of commit fraud. Rubber check. By TX law, is she eligible for a conceal carry license?

I realize any answer is not final, an attorney shud be consulted.

From the same document that Sunray provided:

GC §411.172. ELIGIBILITY

(8) has not, in the five years preceding the date of application, been convicted
of a Class A or Class B misdemeanor or equivalent offense or of an offense
under Section 42.01, Penal Code, or equivalent offense...

It APPEARS, I don't know for sure, that she can apply again once 5 years pass since conviction. That depends on how long a sentence a judge could give you for an A Misdemeanor in Texas.

Yes, you'll need to consult an attorney. No, I'm not licensed in TX. That said, I disagree with the following assessment.
She's no longer eligible. Fourth item down.

The actual law that comes from is here. http://dps.texas.gov/InternetForms/Forms/CHL-16.pdf
I would not say that she's "no longer eligible." I'd say that "she's not currently eligible."

Fourth item down is "is not currently charged with the commission of a felony, Class A or Class B misdemeanor, or equivalent offense, or an offense under Sec. 42.01 of the penal Code (Disorderly Conduct) or equivalent offense." First, if she's been convicted, she's not 'currently charged with' the crime of which she was convicted. So that isn't the problem.

The problem is further down: "has not, in the five years preceding the application, been convicted of a Class A or Class B misdemeanor, or equivalent offense, or an offense under Section 42.01 of the Penal Code (Disorderly Conduct) or equivalent offense." So it looks to me like she has to keep her nose clean for 5 years before she's eligible again.
