I was just given a Browning A5 that's been in my family since the 20s. It's a field gun, so it has been carried much and shot relatively little. This gun has functioned flawlessly up until just recently. I haven't shot it, but my father says it jams and there's a hairline crack developing in the stock.
I'm fairly certain the jamming is probably due to a small worn part or similar, probably nothing serious. The hairline in the stock I imagine can be repaired by someone who knows what they're doing. I also need to have a bead reinstalled in the rib as the factory one went missing.
I'm certain this A5 has a lot of life left in it. I'd like to send it to someone who knows A5s and can diagnose and repair the issues. Anyone know a good smith with A5 and woodworking experience?
