I'm having trouble with my New Model .357 Mag Vaquero. After a quick clean and lube, the revolver won't cock or index. The hammer only moves about 30% into a cocking cycle and freezes-up!
Externally, I cannot see any reason for the malfunction but I am not a 'Smith. The revolver needed to be returned to the Factory when nes as it was skipping and intermittentlly able to fire various chyambers. The Factory replaced nearlly everything thhat moves inside the revolver. The gun has had less than 900 rounds, mainly .38 Special leaqd tae and maybe 30 high powered Factory 125 gr rounds through it.
Somethig is seriouslly wrong with this revolver and I would like to contact either an in-State 'Smith or Ruger for repairs. Can anyone suggest a "GOOD" California gunsmith?
I am new at Single Action Centerfire revolvers and would really like to be able to depend upon mine but the way it's going the revolver dosen't live up to the Ruger reputation!
I have a 20+ yrar old Single Six that NEVER misses a beat but not so the Big Gun...
Thanks,
ZVP
