I have a Rossi 720 - 44 special - that I really like. It is the adjustable-sight version with the regular hammer spur. Everyone who shoots it likes it. In fact, one of my friends wants me to bring it every time we go shooting together (he has very small hands and there aren't many big-bore handguns that he can shoot).

Yesterday morning I was looking around on Gunbroker and saw one listed for $299, which is a good price. It was the DAO type with fixed sights and a spurless hammer. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it was being listed from a pawn shop that's just a few miles away from me!

I got there a few minutes after they opened, and there was the Rossi in their case. I asked to look at it and found that it locked up tight and the barrel looked great inside. I offered $250 for it and the guy said, "Sure."

So of course it followed me home. Here it is:

How did you guess? :)

I shot it today and it functions well. They sure are nice shooting little things.

I sold my last spare 720 in Sept for $385 . Still cheap for this gun. I had three of them and now am down to only my keeper. I have a Model 971 in .357 magnum compensated. Same frame and mechanisim. Great guns.

GORGEOUS and rare Rossi. Said to be the best ever made. IMHO a better gun than the new vaunted GP100 .44 special.
