I have a Rossi 720 - 44 special - that I really like. It is the adjustable-sight version with the regular hammer spur. Everyone who shoots it likes it. In fact, one of my friends wants me to bring it every time we go shooting together (he has very small hands and there aren't many big-bore handguns that he can shoot).
Yesterday morning I was looking around on Gunbroker and saw one listed for $299, which is a good price. It was the DAO type with fixed sights and a spurless hammer. Imagine my surprise when I saw that it was being listed from a pawn shop that's just a few miles away from me!
I got there a few minutes after they opened, and there was the Rossi in their case. I asked to look at it and found that it locked up tight and the barrel looked great inside. I offered $250 for it and the guy said, "Sure."
So of course it followed me home. Here it is:
