i watched a movie last night called "Dear Wendy", about a group of kids who formed a secret society based around their guns, which they must carry at all times, but never use. it was weird, and there was loads of gunplay at the end (they didn't hold to their oath). i started thinking about movies where guns were a major part of the movie. let's see everyone's list of gun movies! here's mine to start:

EQUILIBRIUM
BOONDOCK SAINTS
RESIDENT EVIL I & II
REPLACEMENT KILLERS
BLACKHAWK DOWN
THE WAY OF THE GUN
LAST MAN STANDING (bruce willis)
THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Hard Boiled, basically a 90 minute gunfight starring Chow Young Fat

Band of Brothers, a series, not really a movie, but a must see for any WWII gun nut

Enemy at the Gates, The legend of Vasiliy Zaitsev

Lord of War, opening scene is an ammo factory from the point of view of a shell, intl Arms Dealing

The Quick and the Dead, kind of corny, but lots of spaghetti western action.

Lord of War, for sure. I just saw it a couple of weeks ago. Pretty decent flick.
I especially like what he says at the beginning:
"There are about 550 million guns in circulation around the world. That's one for every twelfth man, woman and child. The only question is, how do we arm the other eleven?"

The only thing i did not like about the movie was that it only portrayed guns in a negative light. It would have been nice if the producers would have thrown in a few decent self-defense scenes. Oh well, it is Hollywood after all

Saving Private Ryan - although technically a war movie, I suppose.

what about for Westerns? Good western gun movies? I've seen Quigley. I have something like 30 free Westerns on my free movies on demand.

The good the bad and the ugly was there the other night.... but I watched Quigley instead.
