Good movie, good book

folks, i wanted to get a couple of suggestions out to you here.

Recently I bought the book Enemies Foreign & Domestic It was a great gun ban civil war-esque book made by a man named matthew bracken, if anyone knows, please set up link to site and order info.

It felt like a really pro-gun version of terminator & unintended consequences smooshed together w/o the intense sexual overtones (it has lighter ones, of course that ain't tough considering uc by john ross), good gun stuff, and is actually quite well written. It is also apparently part of a trilogy which i can't wait for the nxt part of.

Also, I suggest the movie Uprising. It xplains my name quite well. I've managed using this movie to convert a couple of people to pro-gun rights with it. Amazingly it was on nbc originally! I'd think they would be over it.
It's a jon avnet movie with hank azaria, david schwimmer, and leelee sobieski in it. And it is surpringly good

The Honor Harrington (science fiction) series by David Weber is well worth reading.

If you like "age of sail" stories like "Master and Commander" or the Horatio Hornblower series, if you like space opera and/or military fiction, the Honor Harrington series is a real treat.

If you like John Weber and/or John Ringo check out Baen Free Library. Plenty of good books free to read. They also have Eric Flint's "1632" and "1633".

Matt Bracken is a member of this board. Posts under the name Travis McGee. He's a nice guy, and a very talented author. I really enjoyed the book as well.

Speaking of Uprising, the 2001 movie about the cleaning of the Warsaw Ghetto by SS-Gruppenfuhrer Jurgen Stroop, I would recommend reading the interview of Stroop by Moczarski. This book is far more detailed than the Stroop Report and also covers his action in Yugoslavia and the Russian Front. Stroop was not brilliant, but ruthless, logical and persistent and had a good eye for how to maintain the morale of his command.
