Good news, saw Federal 9mm in WM.

Dropped into the sporting goods at a southern Alabama Wal Mart and they had about 20 boxes of Federal 9mm target ammo, $12.57/box. I did not need any, but saw it.

They also had a DPMS .223 AR for $597 !!! The sport model, but still

I think the panic ammo buying may be near an end!

You were lucky to see some handgun ammo at your Walmart. Where I live ammo is only for friends and family of Walmart employees. If one does not know anyone to tell them of new shipment chances of finding other then empty shelves is ZERO.

I've seen .40S&W and .45ACP at my Wal-Mart, they also had 7.62X39 in stock as well.

On post (Fort Sill) the PX (Post Exchange) had plenty of tula .223 in stock.

While ammo is still scarce it's atleast available, a local pawn shop often carries ammo of random types but .308 and 7.62x39 seems to be in stock the most often, 9mm is still nowhere to be seen and .22LR appears from time to time, I had no money last time I was there but they had bricks of .22 for reasonable (but elevated) prices.

Atleast I can find ammo to feed my 5.56 Norinco AK.

Allelujah, you were truly blessed to see all of that stuff on Walmart shelves. I no longer go to sporing department in back of store because I know what I would find. EMPTY shelves. One can no longer buy 12ga slugs or buckshot.

IT's different walmart to walmart. My local walmart puts out their ammo (if they get any) every morning at 7:00am. The same handful of guys, with apparently nothing better to do, line up at the sporting counter at about 6:30 and wait. They buy up anything that can be resold for a profit. However, this past week, I was on vacation with my wife at the outer banks (about 2 hours from our local walmart), where we were just picking up a few things to have at the cottage for the week. We figured we'd stop by their sporting goods counter just to see what they had and low and behold there were 4 100pk boxes of .22lr winchester hollow points, and two boxes of CCI .22 shorts (didn't need these). We bought the 4 boxes of .22lr immediately (first I've seen of it in months). We asked the guy at the counter when they put out their ammo, to which he replied "whenever it comes in...we just put that .22 ammo out about 5 minutes ago". It was about 8:00pm. I like that approach much better. It gives the average person at least a fighting chance to pick up some ammo if they walk in at the right time. You have no chance at my local wally world unless you have the option of being there at 6:30am every day to wait.

The Walmarts around here are still pretty bare. I saw a sign that said "no handgun or rim fire ammo" taped to the ammo counter of one.

The local gun stores are keeping a small amount in stock due to a hybrid of moderate price inflation and forced limits. One had just about anything they've ever had in stock, and prices weren't much higher (5-10¢/rd) than their normal prices. Depends what you're looking for, though.

Local Wal Mart had 5 boxes of .380 today @ 4pm. First stuff I've seen on those shelves in a while. There are 4 of them close by and on the way to other things. All always have bare shelves since Nov.

we're still in the middle of it, but i think we've reached the peak. i just watched some .22LR at cabelas sell out very quickly from when it was posted. Cabelas is limiting customers to 1 box of 100 CCI rounds for $9.00. I would have bought one, but when you factor in the shipping for one box, it kind of sucks. Glad to see Cabelas taking some action so people can get it if they need it, i just didn't need it that bad. nevertheless, there are some out there who apparently did.

My local WM has had tons of .380. I don't need any of that though. Its also that Serbian stuff. My LC9 doesn't like it when I do find it in 9mm.

I saw two boxes of 9mm at walmart the other day as well. I reload 9mm and I passed on it in favor of the 3 box limit of .223 instead.

Haven't seen 9mm or 22 LR in Walmart in months. 380 on occasion as well as 45 and 40 once in a while. 38 and 357 a couple of times. All were at "normal" prices.

Glad to see the DPMS in stock. I paid that for two of that exact rifle 2 years ago at Mark's in Birmingham. I miss Mark!

We have the same thing going on around here with the same bottom feeders lining up every morning. But our Walmart limits them to one box per caliber. I've found Federal and WWB 9mm, .380, .45, .40, even .22 in the past couple of weeks, all without standing in line.
