Outstanding!

In an email today...

To our valued customers,

A year ago, Sportsman’s Warehouse entered into a merger agreement with Great American Outdoors, parent company of Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops. Effective December 2, 2021, that merger agreement was terminated. We at Sportsman’s Warehouse are excited to continue operating as a separate, independent and publicly-traded company (NASDAQ: SPWH).

As we enter 2022, we look forward to continuing our strong growth – adding more stores, improving Sportsmans.com, and expanding our product assortment and services. Our mission to provide outstanding gear and exceptional service remains unchanged.

Gear up for unforgettable!

Best news I've heard this week!

I was sad to hear Sportsman's was being bought out, as it is a regional company that has been in my area for some time now, and it would be sad to see it go onto the dumpster fire that is the Cabelas/Bass Pro.

That was a scary deal. The just built a Bass Pro locally and the prices are ridiculous

Good. I won’t endure the BS to ever again buy a firearm at Cabelas or BPS. Glad to hear I still have Sportsman’s Warehouse as an option.

This is kind of old news, but it was nothing behind the scenes. The FTC is pretty anti-merger right now, and they quashed this deal. So you can thank .gov, I guess.
I can see how that would make sense. That would be a consolidation of almost all of the big box sporting goods companies except Dicks, and they aren’t a big player in hunting and fishing. They’re really more of a clothing and golf/tennis store.

I agree that we need competition when it comes to the big outdoor stores. Too bad there aren't any Sportsman's Warehouse store in Missouri. I have 2 Bass Pro Shops, 1 Cabela's and several Academy Sports stores an hour away from me. Academy definitely has better prices than Bass Pro/Cabela's.

We has a few Gander Mountain stores but they closed down. Gander Mountain prices were worse than Bass Pro prices.
