I may be meeting up with some DFW friends to go shooting, and we thought the Temple/Waco would be a good halfway meeting point to go shooting.

I was under the impression that there are several good ranges in the area, but not sure which would be best for us. Looking at a relatively informal shoot, so just somewhere that hopefully doesn't have too many idiots or too strict of rules ("only one round in the mag at a time") would be great.

Not a deal-breaker, but if one of the good ranges allows full-auto on a portion of the range, that'd be cool too, as I'll have a MAC by then if the ATF ever gets around to approving my stamp.

Matt, The Copperas Cove Pistol Club and the Temple Gun Club have IDPA shoots on the weekends if you were interested. CCPC is a private owned range and not open to public. The Temple Gun Club is member only and you have to be voted in. Dues are $45 a year with a one time $15 processing fee. Of course you don't have to be a member to shoot IDPA, just pay to shoot the match. No full auto allowed in any of the ranges that I know around here.

Other private, but open to the public ranges are:
Weber's on I35 north of Troy/Temple
Stan's Range and Astro Village Range on Hwy 183 North about 2.5 miles apart in Williamson Co.
These are the only public ranges that I know of right now.

Chandler's is a good spot to go and will let you shoot full auto. Its between China Spring and Valley Mills. 254 772 0000 give them a call.
