Fellow brothers and sisters of the longarm,

I was made the following package deal recently,

1 Anschutz 1416 .22LR rifle (NIB condition)
1 brandless nylon sling
1 brandless padded hard carying case
6 spare 10rd mags (unused)
500 rds RWS high velocity .22lr rounds
500rds RWS target rifle .22lr rounds

for US$993.50

is it a good deal?

Ps: Also when cleaning the weapon, is it required to detail strip the bolt? How do I do that? Do I also have to remove the barrel from the stock occassionally for a wipe down?

You did well. My Anschutz 1416 is an outstanding rifle. It is amazingly accurate even with bulk .22 ammo.
It has become my favorite rimfire. Ever since I bought it, my FinnFire has been sitting in my safe.
You won't be sorry you bought it.

By the way, If you decide to part with any of those magazines, I might be interested in buying some.

Bottom Gun,

Have you shot your 1416 from the standing shoulder position without supports? How accurate is it when firing in field conditions?

Are the rounds feeding properly and reliably in your rifle?

Have you ever tried CCI mini mags or Winchester super-X high speed solids in your gun before?

I shoot mine standing offhand most of the time as I feel it is the best way to practice. This rifle will shoot an honest minute of angle from a rest.

My eyes aren’t what they used to be so I scoped mine with a 3-9 Redfield widefield in Millet rings. It was not my first choice in scopes but it allowed me to mount it without removing the rear sight.
One of these days I will probably put my spare 1 ¾ - 6 or my 2-8 Leupold on it. I also have a spare 1-5 Leupold which I am strongly considering. All three of these scopes will tuck in nicely behind the rear sight.
I will most likely put the 1-5 on it since I generally shoot it at the 3 power setting and the 1-5 looks very nice on it. It makes it look almost like a dangerous game rifle.

It shoots well with just about every brand of ammo I have tried in it. It shoots particularly well with Armscor, Winchester Power Point, Winchester Super X solid, Federal, and Federal Gold Medal.

This rifle will not chamber Stinger ammo. Aside from that, I have never had any feeding problems. I also use Savage magazines in this rifle. They required a bit of fitting, but work fine.

This one will also shoot approx 100 FPS faster than any of my other .22 rifles with almost every brand of ammo I shoot through it.

The bottom line is that this rifle is the most accurate .22 I have ever used. I think you will be very pleased with yours.

Shoot well and shoot safely,

Ken
