Hey, all.

I will be spending a day or two in the Atlanta, GA area in early April. I Was wondering if anyone from that area could point me to a cool gun shop or show that might be goin on.

Thanks!

Rob

What part of Atlanta will you be in? It's not quick to get around, and there are a lot of shops. Mostly outside the perimeter.

I'm gonna have a car. I will be near the heartsfield-jackson ATL airport.
Yeah? lots of traffic?

Thanks for the reply bud.

Adventure Outdoors up in Marietta has about 8k guns in stock, including a zebra-pattern gold-plated desert eagle, yours today for arm + leg. But it's a nice store if you're trying to see/hold a lot of guns and figure out what fits you.

I was just about to saw Adventure Outdoors as well, very good prices and fairly easy to get to even from airport area. You can take the perimeter (285) up to 75 and get off at Windy hill or just take 75 up from the airport area. I think 285 will be quicker.

2 ranges very close to Hartsfield (relatively speaking):

Autrey's Armory on GA-314 is 20 minutes south of Airport. $12.00 range fee-shoot all day if you want. Not the best selection of firearms.

Georgia range and Guns in Forest Park is just off I-75 about 10 minutes from the airport. Range charges by the hour. Interesting selection of guns there.

Both shops have rental pistols available.

No gun shows in the Atlanta the first half of the month.

2 interesting pawn shops Arrowhead and Moss Pawn, both are on Tara Blvd off I-75, exit 235 about 15 minutes south of the Airport

As others have said Adventure Outdoors is worth visiting.

If shotguns are your thing, go out Camp Creek Parkway (the highway out of the airport parking), cross 285 go about 5 miles and turn left on Merck Road. Go about 1 mile to the Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds - trap, 5 stand and skeet. Luke Deshotels runs a pretty well stocked pro-shop - only shotgun related though. It is a public range, they rent or sell anything you need to shoot trap, skeet or 5 stand. They are closed on Fridays (yeah, who knows why).

ah yeah, tom lowe's is a lot of fun and probably pretty close to where you'll be staying. If you rent a gun and buy their ammo, though, expect to pay about $40 for 2 rounds (for 1 person).

Bullseye indoor range and gunshop

Not exactly sure how close to Atlanta it is, but I think its in Marietta. Wish I could be more specific, but I can tell you I always make it a point to go there when visiting my family members living in the Atlanta area, being a visitor, I am not driving, they just take me there.

They have a very good selection of handgun rentals and Class III rentals including UZI, MP5, Thompson, etc. Prices are reasonable too, when I was there during Thanksgiving weekend, range time was $10 per shooter per lane, no time limit, eye and ear protection cost a buck each, but if you rent guns you have to shoot thier ammo, fairly priced at only $12 per 50 for 9MM last time I was there. Pistols and machine guns both rented at $10 each regardless of type or caliber, no time limit on them either last time I was there.

They are by far the most reasonably priced indoor range I have ever visited.
