I am in the market for a good Tac-vest: OD green at least 4 rifle mag puches and plenty of accessory pockets. Any advice is welcome. Thank-you.

Please think twice about the Condor vest you have recommended . I ordered one and was in love with it for a while. Then I started having problems:

1. One of the rifle mag cases broke through at the bottom before even testing it in the field
2. Why does it provide for 3 non-removeable pistol mag holders (left upper shoulder); 1 non-removable pistol mag holder on the holster; and 2 pistol mag holders on the pistol belt? This gives me 106 rounds of pistol ammo and only 60 rounds of rifle ammo. Does this make sense?
3. Also, as if the disparity between pistol/rifle ammo capacities was not enough, there is a strange, permanently fixed shotgun-type (non-removable) holder on the right breast.

Does condor really expect me to go into a tactical situation with 100+ rounds of pistol ammo; 60 rounds of rifle ammo; and 12 rounds of shotgun ammo?

I am currently looking for an unadorned molly vest that I can customize to hold either:

*3-4 pistol mags PLUS

-6 rifle mags OR
-50-60 shotgun shells

It just seems like condor expects me to carry two long guns with minimal ammunition (unable to adjust) and then a pistol with a ridiculous amount of ammunition...

My next purchase will be:

1. Plain MOLLE vest; fully customizable
a. molle pouches to setup for 180 rounds (~6 rifle magazines)
OR
b. molle pouches to setup for 60+ shotgun rounds

I have no need for 100's of rounds of 9mm when that space could be much better used on rifle mags (non-detachable on the condor vest)

My ideal setup:

Molle Vest with 6 X 30 round rifle mags (AK-47 preferred)
+3-4 15-18 round CZ/Glock 9mm mags
+hydration pack molle webbed to back of vest

Pistol Belt with buttpack for first aid, multi-tool, flashlight, thermal (whatever I can afford)

Drop-Leg Setup with full size service pistol and perhaps one more 15-18 round 9mm mag

Backup small assault pack for clothes, shelter, extra first aid, more water, etc

It's late so I may not make much sense but please - THAT CONDOR VEST will lock you into to some weird loadouts that don't make much sense unless you carry 3-4 guns and 3-4 types of ammo in small quantities

Buy an empty/unloaded molley vest and outfit it with
-hydration
-pistol belt
-drop leg platform

Then, prioritize your weapons

-add a buttpack to the pistol belt for essential miscelanneous (multitool, flashlights, fire, etc)
-add a hydration system to the vest
-add rifle mags to the vest and a few pistol mags
-add a service pistol to the drop leg holster
-lastly, get yourself a "3 day assault pack" for carrying clothes, shelter, etc

All of the above make very good quality tactical gear that has seen a lot of hard real world use. If you want just a MOLLE platform and pouches you can mix and match, go nuts. They also all make pre-configured stuff too.

I personally don't care for the cross draw vest, it takes up too much usable space. I have the Blackhawk Cross draw and never use it.
I did get the standard 6 pocket vest and modded the 1st pocket to hold my pistol, still leaving me with 5 pockets for mags.
I have recently aquired a Blackwater vest, it has 4 mag pockets, and 2 large side pockets for smaller gear, and Mollie loops on the upper chect wich I added a Black Hawk CQC Serpa holster.

It's on sale now for $50.00
