This guy does quick draw and triple shot stuff and talks about his modifications starting about 9:30 in this video

He says Bob Munden did similar things and talks about extending the leades into the cylinder notches, adjusting the timing so the bolt drops sooner, and something about putting lines into the bolt. Any info on that?

Also he doesn’t mention installing an action stop. Any thoughts and input welcome @Jackrabbit1957 @45 Dragoon

Yeah, over the last couple of weeks I've seen some of his videos. He's a pretty talented fellow. One of his videos shows "how to" make those guns run like that.
He explains pretty well what each mod does including the bolt block, lightened springs . . . the "Mundun step" in the bolt head is rather extreme . . . it doesn't have to be that drastic. Jim Martin has had to "fix" ( replace) some of the bolts in Mundun's modified SA's and he called me one day (10 yrs ago) and told me "don't do that" !!! Lol. So, I modified the Mundun step to be "notch friendly ( the step can move material on the edge of the notch like late bolt drop). So, mine is more of a slide ( no contact loss) rather than an actual step.
The thing I noticed most was the failure to install an action stop ( 1KPerDay obviously noticed too)!! I can't fathom slapping a hammer back that fast with no stop in place. It just beats the hand and ratchet when the cylinder is locked. The locked cylinder shouldn't BE the stop!!
I asked him "why no action stop?" and his reply was "what's that?". This is by no means meant as a slap because I think the guy has talent and he obviously did "his" version of Mundun's mods I think they could be somewhat refined.
Good eye 1K !!!

I defer to the Goon on this one, I haven't had anyone request a race gun. I think if the revolver is set up right in the first place with a bolt guide and action stop and proper spring tension on the hand spring there shouldn't be any real problems. I can see dropping the bolt a bit early...like Ruger does... just to prevent throwby. If your dealing with a pocket model that option is off the table, but then again who is gonna fan a pocket pistol?

Kind of neat to see someone setting a fanning gun up in a way that could be cocked (relatively) slowly also. It's been a long time, but I had a few folks ask for fanning guns when I was still doing action work for CAS/SASS revolvers, and they all included hammer stops and shortened hands so the cylinders had to free-wheel for about half of the leade to prevent some rough battering of the bolt and notches on the cylinder, and the indexing ratchet. But this came with the consequence that slow cocking would not fully cycle the action. Of course, I was always asked to do this work on Rugers, so maybe there's something to the '58 design which precludes that kind of work.
