BH: If you put a stock on that revolver when it is in its cartridge conversion state you have just mfg'd an NFA firearm, ie: pistol with a shoulder stock when that bbl is under 16". Set up as you have it, it is in the same legal status as an unregistered sawed off shotgun or machine gun!

If the gun is set up only as a percussion revolver with that stock then you are ok, you'd also be ok if the gun had the mentioned longer bbl..

By Federal law, the NFA, you have to apply to the ATF by filing the appropriate paperwork, pay a 200.00 tax and it takes quite a period to time for approval.

Generally speaking you've also gotta get your Chief law enforcement officer (or an acceptable substitute) to sign off on the application form or establish a trust. If you don't, what you depict is a felony with a very hefty fine &/or jail time! No joke, serious business.

I have absolutely no care whatsoever whether the fed considers it whatever...they have been throwing laws out the window for years...they want to come after me....letem come. :neener: It most certainly isnt stuck in that configuration.....this aint ruby ridge....but they come after me over some crap like that...it will be similar.

I agree Brushy. And that's the problem, guys trying to find out how to do the right thing with these revolvers and the Federal, State and local officials either state. "that's a muzzleloader" "Its an antique" or more frequently simply ignore you. The ATF considers it a part, and that's how I'm approaching it. :)

Im already...I say I....WE are jumpin through hoops for these people by boxing the conversion separately in the same box BS....I WILL NOT BE TOLD WHAT I CAN DO AT MY HOUSE WITH MY GUNS.

I DO appreciate the heads up dogrunner!

Brushippie,

We love your videos and "how-tos" however, remember ATF and HSA monitors this web site. "Discretion is the better part of valor." No need to give the spy-bots reason to come after you. As my old friend would say, "sometimes when you are rolling in the mud with a boar hog, he is enjoying it." Do what you like but don't broadcast it. This is where the folks at Ruby Ridge went wrong.

Point taken my good man...that gets my back up and always will...I think the making black powder vid pretty much has me on the list anyway....I guess my point is...we have to take a stand somewhere...if they are gonna come after me for the barrel of my black powder conversion being a few inches too short...well I guess I am a far bigger deal than I ever gave myself credit for...but since those same people are passing out machine guns to KNOWN TERRORISTS...Im not too worried....AND...maybe....just maybe...Im a bit po'ed...as every one of you should be.
