Those who have seen me post more than twice know that I am seldom shy in promoting what I believe to be a superior product or service.

One gentleman I cannot say enough good things about is Hakan of Norway (a High Roader), who hand-crafts beautiful and functional grips for CZ handguns using choice cuts of wood.

Yesterday, I opened a well-wrapped package from Norway and... looky here what I found inside:

These flame birch grips from Hakan are stunning. The flame pattern is almost iridescent, reminding me of Tiger's Eye. When viewed in bright light, moving the grips around produces a beautiful shimmering pattern in the wood.

Topping it all off, the grips are up to Hakan's usual standards for fit, matching my hands like a glove. The screw holes are drilled perfectly, and the backpanels are carved flawlessly.

If you have a CZ, you owe it to yourself to order a pair (or two, or three) of Hakan's Custom Grips.

For more information, check out Hakan's Website or contact Hakan directly at [email protected].

Anyone else with pictures of Hakan grips on their CZ?

FLAME BIRCH GRIPS

SVEN, I'M COMPLETELY JEALOUS:fire: . THOSE ARE BEAUTIFUL....HAKAN DOES DO EXCELLENT WORK. I HAVE A PAIR OF NATURAL BIRCHWOOD ON MY 75BD. I HOPE TO PURCHASE A PAIR OF COCOBOLO'S FOR MY 85 COMBAT SOON. ANYONE WHO IS THINKING ABOUT HAKANS WOULD NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED. SUPERIOR CRAFTSMANSHIP AT A VERY FAIR PRICE. MIKE

PICS OF GRIPS

I DON'T HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO SHOW MY NATURAL BIRCHWOODS, BUT IF YOU VISIT CZ FORUM.......IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE THE CZ 75 IN HAKANS ADVERTISEMENT ON THE TOP OF THE PAGE, AFTER YOU HIT "ENTER FORUM" MIKE

I'm waiting for Hakan to introduce grips for my EAA Witness. Never really considered replacing the factory grips 'till I saw his work.

Sven, Mike;
How much are these grips?

Hes quite talented isnt he.....I hope he got more snow than we have thus far....LOL Hes a stand up guy....and makes the best grips known to CZ's clones and 1911's....soon to be Hi Powers from the rumors I started :neener:
Hakan youve got mail.....
Shoot well

Did you say 1911 grips?

As in Officer's ACP grips?

Or, how about P-08 Luger grips?

(oh please, oh please, oh please!)

Grips are priced in the 'middle double digits', depends on wood and such. Considering the materials and the time Hakan puts into each set of grips, I consider this a worthwhile investment.

Hakan works on these grips in his evening 'free time', free time that takes him from his family. I'd rather support an individual craftsman shaping wood by hand than a corporation pouring rubber into a mold.

Sven,
I just emailed Hakan to see if he is making grips for the Witness .45. Sure hope so!

Are your grips satin lacquered?

Thanks, BamBam

Another thumbs up for Hakan! He went way out of his way to make a set for me,the first set he ever made for a large frame Witness (and he said the last but I have seen one other set since so maybe if you ask REAL NICE?). They`re flaming birch and also the first of his Extreme series grips (with stippled panels for a better grip). They also have a raised panel on each grip with "10mm" carved into it. I`ve gotten a LOT of compliments on them and they feel great on the gun too. :) Marcus

Per Hakan's request, I am sending him a set of my Valtro grip panels to see what he can do in the way of a set of grips for the 1911. :)

Of course, I will dutifully report the results.
